re: Did MJ ever win a title when Pippen wasn’t at least the 3rd best player on the court

There are some guys in NBA history who are simply unguardable. MJ stands at the top of that list. But also on that list is Kevin Durant. MJ and Scottie were all-world defenders. But neither of them are shutting down KD.
Anyone who pushes top ten all time isn't really capable of being shut down, only slowed down.
In a hypothetical Bulls/Warriors series, MJ, KD and Steph are those guys who really aren't getting shut down, just that you hope you can slow them down.
Pippen and Klay, you hope you can hold them under 20 per game.
That's why I don't think the Bulls have much of a chance vs the KD Warriors. The Warriors have 3 guys who can give you 40 at any point. The Bulls really only have one.

And this just goes to show you how the game has changed over the last 25 years. Just let Durant try to drive the lane againgst Horace Grant Or Rodman. He would get hit so much he would cry like a baby. The Bulls were not set up to be a 3 point shooting team like those Warriors were.

Kevin is not a drive the lane scorer. so their supposed toughness wouldn’t even be utilized. Kevin would get to his spots and shoot over whoever was guarding him. Just like he is now.

This narrative is super overdone. If it was just that easy to stop KD, teams would do it.
People don't do it because it's not particularly effective and you'd risk fouling out some of your best players.

You don’t watch much basketball do you. He drives the lane all the time because he knows the defenders can barely touch him without a foul being called. Was not like that back in the 80’s and 90’s. They would knock him on his arse every time he tried. As usual wrong again.

Teams had 23.0 fouls per game called on them in 1995-96.
Teams had 20.9 fouls per game called on them in 2018-19.
The narrative that many more fouls are called today is just wrong.

Would Pippen have been the third-best player on the court without Jordan?
Pippen, himself, readily admits that he only met his full potential because of Jordan's leadership and pushing him to be better.

Meh. 80th in the league in drives per game his last season. Which is very very low when you consider how much he has the ball.
And also I may add that all “drives” do not end with shots at the rim. A drive can lead to a midrange jumper, Kevin’s bread and butter.

This is what separates Jordan from all other players. Driving his teammates in practice everyday made those guys into much better players than they would have been otherwise, and it is why those guys had success, 55 wins, even after mike left. He made them all into winners.

Unlike Harden right???????

Harden makes his guys better yea, no one, and I mean no one, did it to the level of mike. That is why he is GOAT.
