Embarrassing interview

It is impossible to embarrass people like this. You see this daily with our politicians as well. Shocked he didn't cry racism.

Dude averaged 44.2 points per game in an era with no three point line and no shot clock. I have no idea how that’s even possible.

There were a lot more possessions in the 1960s-70s. Johnny Neumann of Ole Miss averaged 40 pts a game in 1970-71.

Cajun (or officially Bulldog back then) Bo Lamar averaged 36 points the next year.

Those only look like crazy numbers because teams have a lot fewer possessions in the modern game.

But, as noted, Davis had several missed shots in the last 4 minutes of the game & missed them all. Make just one & he has the "record".

The funny thing is he began to press late and was terrible towards the end of that game. If he doesn't attempt all those poor shots his team probably wins and he has another game to easily get the record.

Just think about the difference everyone's reaction to him would have been if he had broken the record after making this statement:

"I would consider it an incredible honor, However, that said, I personally feel that if I achieve the record, I hope they put an asterisk by it. While I would be extremely honored to have my name in the record books, I think it would be disrespectful to Mr "Pistol Pete" Maravich to not acknowledge that he is still the all-time scoring leader because of the tremendous amount of advantages that I've had...more games, 3 pt shot, etc. But, I have to admit that I would be very exciting to have my name mentioned with Mr Maravich."

I think even some LSU fans would have rooted for him.

Funny how easy it is to be classy than classless, yet so many don't seem to realize it.

Also refused to foul late when they needed him to cuz he would’ve fouled out. Cost them precious time they did not have for someone else to come foul. He was so selfish that it cost him the record and he’s probably too stupid to realize it.

South Carolina Upstate was the only team in with a losing record (15-16), but barely losing at that. So, Detroit Mercy not getting at 14-19 makes sense.

To tie this back to Detroit Mercy's Antoine Davis:

Career FG Attempts

Maravich - 3,166, 0 of those 3PA
Davis - 2,987, 1,566 of those 3PA

It's impossible to compare the two games really. But this dude couldn't hold Pete's jock in comparison to the peers of his time.

Apparently even the Detroit Mercy announcing crew said they wouldn't feel right about the team playing in the cbi tournament.

This kid is making an arse of himself.

We know how great Pistol Pete was, evidently this cat or the people that represent him don’t realize how great he was.

Davis also had a 3 point line while Maravich didn't. This dude is a fricking loser.

He’s so great, yet not only will he not be drafted but he won’t even play one minute of G-League ball in his life.

I think a G League team will give him a shot, but yeah, I don't see him making it past that.

He'd come off the bench at LSU. He's not as good as he thinks he is.

Because he was the greatest shooter and ball handler the game has ever seen. Despite what Stephen A Smith says about Steph Curry.
