Same here, I think that turned a lot of people away from making the trip.

Pretty much

Most prestigious bowl game since 2011 and no show

And phoenix is a great place to visit in the winter, much better than dallas or atlanta.

Which is why LSU Michigan should've been the Fiesta and UCF Florida should've been the Peach.

Why does the Fiesta Bowl start so early now? It used to always be a 7:00 start for a long time. I don’t know why it was moved up so early.

The sugar and rose will always sell out. LSU travels well but that was a long drive for the RV armada to make. UCF doesn’t travel well at all.

Texas and UGA have easy proximity to New Orleans and it’s a party town with everything centrally locates that you would want to do or see.

The citrus bowl was def not sold out. Not was the gator bowl

UCF is the biggest school in the USA. Something I was surprised to hear when my dad mentioned it to me on Tuesday.

Whole lotta excuses being made by LSU fans up in here. What other one can we think of? How about the traffic was bad in BR so we couldn't make it to the airport? Raining?

Chuker the contrarian setting everyone straight. What would we do without your great wisdom?

THIS is exactly why these Bowl committee's LOVE the B1G. Listen to all the excuses up in here. The B1G conference has been shite on for 70+ years when it comes to having to "travel" for bowl games. The SEC/ACC/PAC/Big 12 have had the luxury of having these bowl games in their back yards. B1G fans have always traveled well and represented their university. The Rose Bowl was at least 70-30 Ohio State fans. Washington got embarrassed and they are significantly closer. The B1G drives bowl attendance. LSU fans should have showed up....zero excuses!

- New Years Day at 11 AM
- Far from both fan bases (thus more $$)
- UCF has a terrible following
- LSU fans disappointed in losing to A&M and getting shitty matchup

This was the most easily predictable attendance ever.

opponent and venue drive attendance....this game didn't really have either going for it. Replace UCF with a team people wanted to see us matched up against and it would have been a better sell.

I would imagine there's going to be a huge contingent headed to Austin next year. Interesting opponent at a venue 99% of our fan base has never seen us play in.

but hey if people want to view bowl game attendance as some badge of honor, go for it.

Well, I had to work the day after New Years and the flights were pretty ridiculous and it’s out of reasonable driving range.

A lot of people took off all last week with Christmas and didn’t want to take another full week off to go to Arizona for a non-playoff game.

You think the Fiesta Bowl attendance was bad, wait until the natty. Placing that stadium in Santa Clara was a monumentally bad decision. I was considering going there when the Broncos made SB50, but it was a logistical nightmare.

I would have gone, but I went to Dallas for the Miami game. As much as I love LSU one vacation game is all I have in me a year.
