It can't be the all time screw job, because no matter what the ref did, thats still a 1 in 500 chance, Much worse screw jobs gave the game away, like Bama vs. Penn St in 1983 when the guy caught the ball a YARD in bounds, and a ref who had ties to Penn St. called it out.

No it wasn’t. That call was atrocious, but PI calls are inherently subjective.
There was no subjectivity about the time left in the western Michigan game. It was objectively over. The game was over. Zero doubt and argument.

lol it is hilarious we have cameras on every blade of grass and a million reviews per game only for them to throw their hands up and do whatever they want when the time comes.

The absolute funniest thing would be some cameraman taking a shot of the defender going up to touch the ball with zeros on the stadium clock in the background.

I watched this in real time and changed the channel because that was clearly 0:00 on the clock on the first hail Mary.

I haven’t heard any explanation for this call. On even the worst PI call, the most homer fans can always manufacture some reason it was the right call.
I don’t know how anyone defends this call.

I flipped to Hawaii UNLV and when the announcers went to a game break to show the highlights they said Michigan was allowed to have a final play b/c of a penalty.

This is similar to frick job OU got in Oregon. Those refs all got fired but we never got the win back.
