1st CFP poll comes out Tuesday, we should expect their poll to make more sense than the AP

For instance, say unranked USC beats #2 Ohio St. USC would be 7-2 and Ohio St. 6-2
Everyone knows how illogical the AP is and can say with high confidence Ohio State would be ranked ~#11 and USC would be ranked ~#17
Common sense says same # of losses, same conference, 1st tiebreaker should be H2H. The committee usually follows this logic when it’s that cut and dry. USC should be ranked ahead of Ohio St. and both should be outside the initial CFP bracket of top 12 seeded teams going into next week. Do you expect only 2 B1G teams to be in the top 12 Tuesday? Indiana and UCLA

3 - IU, OSU, and UCLA

So they leave OSU ranked ahead of USC even if they lose by multiple scores and technically a worse record? Like I said in OP I disagree with that

Indiana has done absolutely nothing to justify being ranked highly.
Their most impressive data point is a close loss to Ohio State.

They will be though. Regardless of anyone’s opinion there’s zero shot they are ranked outside the top 10 in the poll this week.

Well other than win all their games except against a top 5 team on the road by one possession

LSU should be number 1

Why would it? Half those fricking idiots don’t even watch the damn games. They catch highlights on SC if that.

Nothing. Their best win is a close loss to OSU

Yeah, that poll will make sure to not reward teams that lose to DII QBs.

Just my .02, but top 3 should be
1- Miami
2- UGA
3- Utah
Obviously the Utes would be over ranked, but they are undefeated. I can’t see putting ND or Indiana ahead of them.
I don’t really think UGA is the second best team in the country either, but they’re better than ND and Indiana as well.

I'd probably go with
1. UGA
2. Utah
3. Kentucky
4. UCLA
5. Miami
I think Miami is better than that but needing ref help for 2 unranked wins is uninspiring. They're better than they've shown though.
I would have ND and BYU down below the SEC log jam of alabama, Texas, and OM. Maybe ND behind LSU too. I can't see any argument for having ND continue to move up while BYU keeps looking worse

Should we?
Well sure they actually sit down and compare resumes. The majority of the AP voters don’t put any effort into their rankings at all and have no transparency at all. The committee at least presents their argument each week during an hour long weekly broadcast

LSU’s best win is what? Texas A&M?
Louisiana tech?
A “good loss” to Kentucky?

But your #1 ranked team lost to Auburn?? That’s sound logic right there.

I’m not arguing for LSU to be ranked top 10 where as Indiana was ranked 4th Saturday morning.
Why is Indiana ahead of UCLA or Utah or any other P4 1-loss team?

They lost to an Ole Miss team who gave up 50 and got trucked by 4 scores against a Florida team that will finish 7-5.
It’s not a sign of parity and mediocrity, it’s a sign that the SEC is the greatest collection of football teams of all time. Anyone in the big ten would finish in the bottom half of it. - MSB
