I'm not in whatever you're talking about. I wish you could read a poster's thoughts and not ascribe other people's thoughts to them. It would make you at least a 10% better poster.

I know it would ruin your point, but maybe make some exceptions. I'm not the one who suggested we leave. In fact the opposite if you read gud.

Why not form a new conference composed of libel victims and actual villians as well as Universities looking for a way out of their current conference. I would think these schools would qualify besides LSU:
Penn St., Texas, Virginia Tech, FSU, Miami, Clemson, SMU, Oregon, USC,
West Virginia, Michigan or Ohio State. What are your thoughts?

The SEC would be happy to trade us for the North Carolina market.

Plus they get another patsy to roll out for the slaughter to GA, AL, TX.

They don't want us challenging those 3 schools.

I think we can be confident that research is in process.

Much like looking for a new job in the same industry,...discretion can't overstated.

No I think we just need to make some back door deals to get rid of sanky and any other trouble makers that are causing us trouble.

I am interested to hear some people's ideas of the options. Money drives everything in these decisions, and the university would be very hesitant to leave a cash cow like the SEC.
I don't think the Big 10 TV contract is as big as the SEC's , and the only viable option would be for some major teams ( Texas, Ohio St, USC, etc) to all get together and form a super conference. I don't see this happening for at least 6 or 7 years, earliest.

Yes. I think we should find a mate like Miami and see about joining the big 10. The big ten has closed the gap and potentially surpassed the sec since NIL. I’m still not convinced they’re “better “ talent wise but it’s damn close and they’re more profitable. I say after this we get deals in the works and gtfo. College football is dead so who cares. Conferences may not exist that much longer anyhow. The refs are going to go out of their way to screw us as long is Sankey is commish and lane is our coach.

The SEC is a shell of its former self in football. Baseball is different.

There's a super conference coming anyway. Its all moot

The SEC showed its true colors through this. It’s selective in how it treats its members. Also, they’ve already killed several rivalries except the ones they’ve deemed most important. Might as well start playing Ohio state and Oregon every year.

My first options would be to prison rape the teams on our schedule that were so Pro “remove LSU from the SEC”

Do you think it wise to explore other options before we are eventually pushed into a corner one day down the road and have to make a move in conference affiliation where, because of circumstances, may not be the best option for LSU?

Would not be surprised if this has been going on already.

The B1G would have interest in 4 power southeast schools. 1 alone would be very difficult for LSU with the travel requirements. 4 from LSU, FSU, Miami, Clemson and UNC would make a very strong SE pod to have the B1G as the national conference and lock in 3 permanents on the schedule.

No one is saying that at this point we should voluntarily leave the conference. We are discussing if we should at least start looking at backup plans since the league just threatened expulsion and it's looking like it will be a hostile environment going forward. We are aware of the financial ramifications of it, a preferred route is a change in SEC leadership and fairly distributed seats at the leadership table. It seems to be clear that we are outnumbered at this point though so I don't see it happening. You can't move forward without having at least fallback options.

Well this is just objectively untrue. The Big 10 TV deal is much more lucrative than the SEC's. Another reason Sankey should be gone for allowing that to happen under his watch

We should put out feelers to the B10 just to piss off Sankey.
