Alleva then rescheduled the meeting and said he was including the NCAA, LSU counsel, and compliance and Wade requested a list of questions and that his attorney be present. Wade was denied both requests so therefore he refused to come to the meeting.

So they rescheduled the meeting and invited the NCAA, so the frick what? That's no reason not to meet with your boss.

Again, so the frick what? They can't force him to say anything he doesn't want to say.

I keep seeing these talking points come up like they mean something, but they just don't. Don't bring your attorney, just show up and tell them that you're in compliance. Why is that so hard for people to understand?

If you don't see anything wrong with this then you are to dumb to argue with, its not worth my time.

Because if this was their play to fire him with cause, there is literally millions of dollars on the line. I'm not going to a meeting like that without all the resources at my disposal

I don't need an attorney present for me to tell my employer that I am in full compliance with the law, but I cannot answer specific questions due to the on-going investigation. PERIOD - THE END. The NCAA can hear that, and the FBI can subpoena the transcripts of the meeting if they just want to hear me claim innocence and that I can't speak to the details.

It's not about what you think you need, it's about what's smart.

Going into a meeting like that without legal representation is just idiotic. Do you understand that even innocent people can make comments that incriminate themselves?

The whole reason LSU fans are upset is that if CWW is found to have committed NCAA violations then you get punished anyway, suspending him now does NOTHING to help anything.

Yes it does help. It helps the NCAA, so LSU suspends their coach, let's look at them more closely, since the fruit may hang a little lower...

Usually innocent people don't lawyer up and clam up. They scream their innocence from the mountaintop.

If not, you lawyer up, shut up, and try to figure out some legal maneuvers to minimize the pain from the mess you created.

Wow. You’re profoundly wrong about that.

What it means is that LSU was not acting in good faith.

Wade was left with no decision but to decline to meet under those ridiculous terms.

Yup. Alleva stuck LSU's neck out for nothing. Another genius move from Captain Cheese Dick.

Inviting the NCAA to the INITIAL MEETING, is like finding out you that your company is being investigated for cooking the books and you invite the FBI and SEC (Securities and Exchange Comm'n, not the athletic conference) to your initial meeting with your CFO.

You get your house in order, then you talk to the NCAA. Don't hit the panic button because you had a bad day in the press.

Law enforcement love people like you

Having your attorney present is smart, whether you’re guilty or not.

Is this factual? If so Wade will never coach another game at LSU.

You are a fricking moron. You have an attorney with you when you are accused or whether you might be accused of something, not whether you are “guilty” or “innocent”.
