what nonsense.

Archie seems like a class act and a great father.

Shocking that LSU fans would hate on the guy just because his kids didn’t sign with us. It’s so childish.

I talked with Archie and Peyton a couple of times (never met Eli or Cooper). Both knew I was an LSU fan, and they couldn't have been nicer. Archie has always impressed me as being a really good person and a great father.

Ole Miss hired Peyton’s boy as HC to seal the deal. It was a done deal when they hired Cutcliffe

Ole Miss needs to pull out some more power moves and hire Arch's High School coach from Newman as an assistant.

don't hate him, really don't care, and I can't put my finger on it, maybe I'm wrong, I just get that vibe from a thing or two he's done or said, doesn't really matter, everyone thinks I'm a douche

IMO Arch is going where the family believes he is the most protected. Several good WRs wouldn’t hurt. 1-2 years of playing time with not getting hurt and off to the NFL. Hopefully we build a superb Oline for Arch and Howard

With the exception of Peyton, The family is and Ole Miss family. Grandpa was a QB and baseball player. Grandma was homecoming queen. Dad played 1 season until neck injury. Uncle Eli was star.

We have 2 strong QBs that are LSU legacies coming here: Holstein and Howard. We would love to have Arch here too, but if I don’t see it.

Yes, Archie seems like a good father. Two of his sons made NFL quarterbacks and Cooper perhaps would have been a solid receiver except for the injury.

Too bad there are all these posts about a player LSU likely won't get and very well may not need.

I would much rather read about Walker Howard, perhaps Holstein and the other quarterbacks already at LSU.

Remember, you cannot sign them all. Only 25 signees per year (except for Alabama) and as has been mentioned, the QB group at LSU appears strong for the next few years.

1968: ARCHIE beat Mike Hillman and LSU 27-24.

1969: ARCHIE beat Mike Hillman and LSU 26-23 (marred an otherwise perfect season for the Tigers).

1970: LSU, led by Bert Jones and Buddy Lee, annihilated Ole Miss 61-17. Archie was in a cast and played sparingly in that game, giving way to * gasp * Shug Chumbler in the 2nd half.

So it seems like in a fair arena ARCHIE fared well against LSU. Also, Ole Miss was coached by Johnny Vaught back then and were generally a player in the SEC in those days.

Archie is true blue Mississippi. Two days before the LSU/Clemson NCG he was WWL and made a point to say that LSU needed a Mississippi QB to make it to the NCG (Burrows dad was born in Mississippi and grandparents lived there). This is anecdotal, but to some extent reveals his feelings about what place he considers to be his “home”. The folks older than me will tell you that Archie felt (and stayed) that LSU and Cholly Mac intentional went after his broken arm in the last game. There is no doubt he still feels that way and raised his sons to feel the same way. Cooper went to Ole Miss as a legacy. Mediocre high school WR that should not have been on a D 1 roster. Injury needed his career, but he went on the become Mr Ole Miss , red pants and all. Between Archie and Cooper——there is no way in hell they will let this kid put LSU in his final 3, let alone attend. The hate is string and has been there since the broken arm game. The hate for Alabama is here too, for similar reasons, but not on the same level as the LSU hate.

funny they archie and coop hammed it up with coach o at 2019 lsu 7on 7

I have never heard the Mannings say anything bad about LSU. They are Ole Miss fans. Just like some families are LSU fans. They have been respectful and private in their decisions to not go to LSU. Have never heard any Manning say bad things about LSU during the recruitment process and during their college and pro careers.

I can't blame Peyton for not wanting to come to LSU in the mid 90s. Eli was a legacy to Ole Miss and the fact was that he was not as highly ranked or touted as Peyton coming out of high school. He really improved his game in college and has won two superbowls. Some of you may recall Cooper Manning and he went to Ole Miss as a WR before having to retire due to injuries.

NFL Career Earnings
1. Peyton Manning 248.7 million
2. Eli Manning 235.3 million

And none of that has college written on it, which was the point of this thread

They are about expanding their footprint and influence.

They have La, TN, MS, CO, IN and NY. Cooper is in the Oil and gas Business. I expect Texas to be a player as long as they show they are competitive.

Clemson would also be a player. Don’t know they want him under Sabans shadow.
