not even close to that being the case....but lsu sucks as a school right now. the rankings very much reflect that.

I used to boo Archie when I was a kid in the dome in the 70’s and he was throwing sidearm pick 6’s to linebackers. Cooper is a cool guy though

I believe Archie and wife have moved back to Oxford. Their home in New Orleans was on the market, maybe sold by now.

The problem with saying Arch would be sitting at LSU is the same with any elite contender. Does anyone really think Bama, Texas, Clemson, etc are going to be void of 5 star QB's?? All the major schools are loaded with talent, it's just that talent depth at QB is very rare for LSU...

depends on what you mean. Obviously Peyton had the much better college career but coming out they were rated as basically 1 and 1a so the fact that LSU had a commitment from Booty is relevant when discussing why Peyton did not go to LSU

I always thought the same as your dad. As much as I disliked Archie when he was beating LSU, it was amazing to watch him run and throw week after week in the SEC. He was a far better athlete than either Peyton or Eli. And other than Elvis, Archie was the biggest folk hero Mississippi has ever known.

I wouldn't have wanted Peyton to go to LSU at that time(and Booty just used us as a bargaining tool to negotiate with the Marlins, btw,) if I were Archie, we were a train wreck, Eli wasn't as developed at the time, imho, under all of that good ole baw exterior though, Archie seems like a petty douchebag, if he's held a grudge this long he has some deep issues(not referring to his old man's suicide)
