McConnell (Dinardo OC last two years)
“Malveto” 2008 co-Dc.
Pelini part 2

Some real contenders there…

House and tepper likely cost good offenses from leading potential top 5 teams.

Davis somehow underperformed his way into a long tenure through multiple staffs despite continued lack of development

Pelini and malveto followed nations title years with horrific defenses

House probably cost us a national championship, so him. But then we probably never get Lane…

So maybe not.

We talking assistants? Because if you include HC Curly is in the clubhouse having shot a course record.

Must be assistant coaches. Otherwise Curley is the WOAT.

Bradley Dale Peveto used to catch a lot of grief here.

And it was Lyn Amedee's dumb arse that kept calling passing plays in that Auburn game where Howard threw all the pick-6's in the 4th quarter.

The Joe Sloan offense last year was epically bad. I'm trying to remember a worse offense at LSU, especially given the talent.

House's defense was solid for most of 2022 and did a lot of heavy lifting to carry LSU to some wins that year while the offense was very inconsistent. So it is hard for me to think he just forgot how to coordinate a defense over one offseason. IMO, the 2023 disaster was a combination of two things (1) LSU lost some key players from the 2022 defense and BK didn't do enough to replace them in the transfer portal. Particularly the secondary. That was a time where BK wanted to build in the "traditional" way after having to go heavy in the portal in 2022. (2) With the secondary being awful, House tried to play bend but don't break. The problem is LSU broke far too often playing that style and gave up big plays anyway. The would have been better just dialing up the pressure and living with the big plays the opponent would sometime hit as a result because LSU was giving up big plays anyway. At least attacking would have given LSU a shot to make just enough key plays defensively to allow the great offense enough of a margin for error to outscore the opponent.

My vote will always be Lou Tepper.

LSU was good in 1997. They were a top 10 team in 1998 (first time in a decade). Largely because LSU was returning so many key players. It was Tepper's stupid scheme that took a projected top 10 team and dumped them to 4-7. Rarely can you say one coaching change may that big of a difference. But in this case it did and it was reaffirmed in 1999. At least House had one decent season. Tepper tanked the program immediately

Curly took over a bad program and kept it bad. Tepper got the reins to a top 10 program and was the biggest contributor to making it a last place program.

Lynn Amedee was the worst OC by far -- even Joe Sloan was a Rhodes scholar compared to him.

Worst DC: Matt House, Bo Pelini (2020) tie.

Lou Tepper said it takes his players four years to learn his system. Saban said he kept his defenses simple enough that a freshman could start if he won the job at practice. Tepper was Fricktarded

Worst HC was Mike Archer. He allowed LSU Football to go into the tank.

I blame O for Canada’s offense. He completely handcuffed him.
