When it cools off we always cook chicken and sausage gumbo. First game we bbq. So Probably briscuit with home made boudin, potatoe salad, and a green vegetable

It’s exciting to have a coaching staff that, knows what they’re doing, that are invested, and that want to win. The fans are sick of Kelly’s tantrums when he got cornered by reporters asking good questions about the deficiencies everybody could see. I tried to be a believer, but it became increasingly clear that he couldn’t have cared less about building a winner.
re: SEC Football Ranked by Percentage of In-State Roster

Just googled and asked AI, which state produced the most NFL players in the last fifty years. It answered California. When I asked the same question with adding per capita, it replied Georgia and then Louisiana. I’m not surprised. The interest in sports is far greater here. How many times have SEC baseball teams gone to regionals and play in front of two hundred people.

Alabama is a well coached team. They will be in the thick of it again this year. They will real question is LSU relevant again. For the first time since 2019, there is a coaching staff, that seems to be invested in winning. We will have to wait and see.

Arkansas vs Nebraska in the Orange bowl , where Lou Holtz punted on third down.

Possibly, Sam L. He left same school as that guy that wore a single digit number. He took a year under those coaches. He might turn out even better than we’re all hoping for. Fingers crossed.

The sugar bowl where Alabama’s defense humbled Gino Toreta.

Respect his wishes with the exception of the number and trophy. He is a great tiger, he gave us two good seasons. I will also be grateful for that. He was willing to take LSU money and was willing to represent the university and its fans. So go forth and prosper, but don’t expect the fans to forget who is he is.

LOL maybe so! I was thinking more about other players than Daniels though. He’ll be ok financially no matter what happens. Although somebody could have explained what old saying about biting the hand that feeds you means. It’s sad that there’s no gratitude.

I’m not happy about any of it. I’m sorry we won’t be playing you all every year. Even when both teams were down that game was always a dog fight
Is it time to set up programs to ready athlete for fame and fortune

With all the talk about Jayden Daniels. It reminds me that some of the kids go from lower income situations to fabulous wealth and fame almost over night. We have all watched some get used and abused over the years. Shouldn’t the university have programs to prepare the athletes about what to expect? Gold diggers, dishonest managers, paparazzis and the rest?

If we’re trying to keep it regional, Virginia tech, Florida State or Georgia Tech. Oklahoma state because Oklahoma is here. Georgia tech was already in the conference which makes me think of Tulane. But I agree with you that there are enough already.

I ran into him at Sam’s in Baton Rouge a couple of years ago. I got to thank him for everything. He was very nice, he was down to earth we had a very pleasant conversation. May he rest in peace.

I’d be flattered that someone wanted to where my old number. And, LSU has a tradition of issuing numbers to certain players who display the potential to be great and or team leaders. What’s the big deal brother? They been playing football since the late eighteenth hundreds, I’m sure there have been many number 5’s during those years. Sadly, maybe number 5, might have to go to the biggest prima donna from now on.

re: Arkansas vs LSU
Posted by bigjohnson on 8/11/26 at 7:37 am to CatfishJohn
You are spot on Catfish. LSU/Ole Miss the third week of the season is a sacrilege. Halloween weekend was set in stone for years. We used to play A&M early when Jackie Sherrill was the coach. Money has ruined the game. Those poor UCLA fans paid big bucks to go to a game in the, “vaunted” Tiger stadium in September. Kicked off at 11:00 a.m. it was in the mid nineties with extremely high humidity. The powers that be don’t think about the fans. LSU games used to start at 8:00 p.m. so that it would cool off. Media tries to create rivals. First it was Arkansas and then A&M. Noting against those schools, but LSU’s rival have always been Ole Miss Halloween weekend and the last game of the season was TULANE. People would throw green hot dogs on the field. It’s embarrassing but that’s what happened
