#37 from Crowley.
Tommy Casanova would still kick arse in the SEC today!

The program has a tremendous history of several outstanding defenses, so it's tough to pick just one.
Tyrann Mathieu, Tommy Casanova, Glen Dorsey, Michael Brooks, Brady James and Devin White were all outstanding.

Badger might be the most dominant of all time for any team. Dude created game changing plays every game and was the most dangerous returner that season.

Ronnie Estay. Only defensive lineman I ever saw who was triple-teamed at times....even in the East-West Shrine Bowl in San Francisco...and still had a sack.

Other than the Alabama game 2019 Stingley was a problem for opposing offenses. Dude was an eraser at CB

Brooks. Could just take over a game. He was talked about becoming another LT, that's how good he was til he got hurt.
Lavalais 03. Took over games too. That sack on 4 & 1 in Auburn game was beauty. Then Down Goes Eli. Legend.

Patrick Peterson. He erased the best receivers in the nation. Absolutely erased them. He is one of the top five or six corners to ever play the game. There is not another LSU player you can say that about for their position, not Burrow, not Devin White, not Glen Dorsey, not Tommy Casanova, not Tyrann Mathieu, nobody.
I know some are going to say Burrow was the GOAT, but he wasn't. He put up some of the best production in history, but that was because he was a great talent at the time the game evolved. All of the best seasons are recent. But no NFL GM would take Burrow over a dozen other QBs like John Elway, Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Roger Staubach, Johnny Unitas, Patrick Mahomes and Bart Starr.

Evidently, a lot of GMs would have taken Burrow over all but one of those you've listed.

And using your criteria, do you think PP7 is one of the top 6 CBs to ever play the game?
Burrow is very much one of the top QBs to ever play CFB. Maybe behind Tebow but that's about it.
And Tyrann was the most instinctive player I have ever seen step on a football field at any level.

It’s TM and it’s not even close. Dorsey got a ton of accolades but his production wasn’t off the charts

I regret that so any LSU fans do not know who Brooks is or why a group of us rave about him.
He played a long time ago, there is not much TV footage available and he didn't stack multiple years All America honors, like Casanova, Estay, Peterson etc.
And many project NFL stardom onto their college performance which may or may not be appropriate (Bert Jones, for example, who had little PT, due to Mac).
But if you had a chance to see Brooks, you will know why we rave.

not really
Julio and him had some epic battles with Julio winning a lot of times
The answer is easily Mathieu - go back and watch the havoc he caused on the field. He changed games all the time

Chad Lavalais doesn't get much credit, and while I don't believe he was the most dominant defensive player in LSU history, he at least deserves an honorable mention.

Most feared - Michael Brooks and it isn’t close. Doc was the GOAT for longevity.
Mathieu was eliminated versus Bama on the big stage so coaching does play a part.
With that Mathieu for that 1.5 seasons or whatever he played was the best I’ve seen in P&G in terms of making game changing plays.
Leornard Marshall was DOMINATING on the DLine.
