Seems like a gimmick one would expect from a Wanna Be School.
I suspect Joe and Jayden were both told that, yes, there is a written policy, but we are going to honor you by not issuing your jersey for the five year period. Maybe BK made the promise, maybe Scott.
Lane also says that as part of Pickett's recruitment, he was promised the number 5.
In both cases, LSU made promises.
Lane chose to honor the promises made to the guy on his roster. Whether of not Lane personally made the promise, I respect that he honored it.
Don't know what to do about any promises to Jayden, but the way his camp handled it so publicly, makes if difficult to lose sleep over.

I view this as coming directly from Jayden's camp. It is an effort to recast their compliant, after finding the initial public C&D and explanation for it was poorly received by nearly everybody. Having Clark deliver the re-messaged, toned town compliant is an attempt to take down the volume and arrogance a notch but still maintain a sense of dignity..
Even if you dislike Clark, its a step in the right direction to de-escalate Mom's error of judgment.

He has not destroyed his name and image; he has modified it .
In a very damaging way and with his most loyal group of supporters.
Even from a strictly business point of view, this is destructive to Jayden's good will with fans and this ego-centric move will even hurt him with his NFL fans.
This should have never happened with sound business management.
Totally self- inflicted wound .

re: Ryan Clark - YOU'RE FIRED!

Everybody wants to make this about race, but that's not why he was fired.
He was fired b/c he is an arse*ole.

Hope we can show them the same type of hospitality they showed us.

Somebody trying to assure he doesn't come to LSU?

It may be that TT is unwilling to put up a fight b/c it cannot take much more credibility/ PR damage so soon after the Sorsby debacle.

“Talks fell through” confirms there never was really a commitment. The kid left open all negotiations. “Commitment” really is only recognition of a current leader in bidding….
re: Lane Kiffin to face fines for his comments

I do not understand this.
Kiffin described his experience with some recruits' families. What's wrong with that?
The SEC is on very thin ice with this and it appears to be overreach.

re: This is why coach O is a great hire.

The most recent rehabilitation of Coach O continues.
I assume Landry will turn to that hotbed of world class academics, McNeese State College, for a replacement?

re: LSU on Pace for Undefeated Baseball Season

That LSU-S record of 59-0 last year was one of the most amazing things i have seen. At any level, that is an incredible feat.
I got a letter from the White House Tuesday that granted me a pardon . It was addressed to “Occupant”.
Sharp seems a stretch.
He cannot block, doesn’t have notable speed and average hands, at best.
With a limited roster, why would he be a take?

re: LSU Hires Adam Clark as AGM, Promotes JR Belton

For all I know, the Belton hire may be fully justified. But it has all the appearances of a political hire per Landry.
re: Current Seaton narrative
Posted by nitwit on 1/22/26 at 8:36 am to SouthernInsanity
I assume his Uncle cares about him and is trying to getting the best deal for him he can. And, he seems to think he has experience and maturity Seaton needs to get that. If Seaton didn’t trust him, he would no longer be in the picture. Too bad we cannot see both packages to compare…
Honestly, I thought BK did fine his first two years, considering the rebuilding of the roster which was necessary. Then the third year was not reassuring and featured poor coaching.
He then signed a good HS and portal class and i thought we were set for a playoff run. BK, Sloan and Davis taught me otherwise.
I do not live in BR and did not realize BK had set the program on cruise control. There is no excuse for Woodward NOT knowing this...

OM players have now begun to process what it means with Pete G as their HC.

I look forward to learning what really occurred over the last tow years between BK and SW.
Clearly both share blame, but just what is fact and what is fiction between BK's golfing and social life and SW's meddling with coaching staff, i shard to discern. Some of the claims being made during the week of the firing etc, did not seem credible, but i have little insight. Would love to know ...
