re: The B1G and SEC want UNC, so who wins the prize?
Posted by EulerRules on 7/3/26 at 11:03 am to Diamondawg
UNC did not start “Gain of Function” genetic-engineering viral research, but Prof. Ralph Baric of UNC was a leading researcher. His major study on a SARS-like virus was not “outlawed.” In 2014 the Obama administration placed a moratorium on gain-of-function research which prevented federal funding of such research, unless approved by a special committee. However, Dr. Baric’s study was allowed to keep their federal funding because it had been approved before the moratorium was put in place. One of that paper’s co-authors was none other than the PRC’s Shi Zhengli, the infamous Chinese “Batwoman”, who later expanded that research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, partially funded by US TAXPAYERS with an NIH grant approved by Dr. Anthony Fauci (who deliberately circumvented the evaluation process normally conducted by the National Science Advisory Board for Biosecurity) and funneled the money through the EcoHealth Alliance (an NGO) to the Wuhan lab of Shi Zhengli. And we all know the rest of that story…So back to football!

Interesting “fairy” tale, Cap. But…both of your assertions are false.
The French Canadians of Acadie (Les Acadiens) were primarily fur traders. They weren’t “run out of Europe.” They went to Acadie (current day Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, part of New Brunswick, and part of Maine) to engage in the lucrative fur trade. Most were fiercely loyal to the French king (read up on Charles St. Etienne de la Tour, a 17th century two-time governor of Acadie). In the run-up to the Seven Years’ War, the British gave Les Acadiens the option of swearing allegiance to the British Crown or being transported on British ships to various locations. NONE of those British ships came to Louisiana. NONE. Les Acadiens that refused to betray France either left on the ships or stayed and fought a guerilla war against the British. Many Les Acadiens that left on the British ships later CHOSE to come to Louisiana, which was actually under Spanish rule at the time. NONE of them were forced to come to Louisiana.
Maybe learn a little history before you run your mouth next time, n’est-ce pas?

And the twist came when Jason’s son, Mason, caught the winning 2-point conversion pass in OT in Coach Saban’s last SEC loss.

While Florida is attempting to run the table, they will inevitably throw a shoe and lose...My bad, LSU isn't on their schedule.

She's so short her heels don't reach the ground. Might make a good half-back.

Technically…it’s impossible to run-rule someone in an extra inning game. LOL

Take a gander at the West Coast Michigander (?or Michigoose) who has forgotten Harbaugh's cheating mess and Sherrone Moore's implosion. Are you also still mad Lloyd Carr's grandson is the star QB of the Fighting Irish? Are you hiding amongst the trees of "an arbor"?

C’mon, baws. It’s just a matter of whether or not he obtained consent before she died, ‘cause if he says it was after, then he really has no defense.
Reportedly the first 3 Kentuckians that drove past yelled, “Get a room!” Sage advice.
