re: What's the latest on Clark, Niang, Levy, and Dessert?

He had good reason to believe they would be cleared by now as several other players were recently cleared having very similar situations, and only just ahead of these guys in line. Some of these guys were teammates of the players we,'re pushing to get eligible. I assume the order is decided by when the paperwork is submitted. So they should know approximately where they are in order because those players likely communicate with each other.
The fact that Levy hasn't been cleared seems to give credibility to this. There is no reason he shouldn't be cleared other than it just hasn't been processed yet.

I'm never one to buy into baseless conspiracy theories.
But it is very clear the SEC has made LSU, specifically Kiffin and Wade, its target to use as the example to show the rest of the SEC teams/coaches, and the rest of the country how much "might" the SEC Commissioner has in being the "savior" of college sports. This, despite the fact numerous other programs throughout the nation and SEC have done the same things with their rosters. So I would not be surprised at all to learn there is some behind closed doors instructions to delay, or put LSU's players at the back of the line simply for optics

They'll give approval the night of the first non-conference game. I'll be ready to burn down a building if they delay it past that.

There is a reason Dessert and Niang were on the roster for UCF game but not Levy.

This is what I noticed too
He has a good shot for a 7’3 big
He will play more than people think

I dunno, your theory that LSU was feeding misinfo to the media to protect McMahon seemed fairly baseless.

1. I certainly gave you a detailed explanation as to why McMahon was retained at the end of his miserable 3rd season and why LSU "suddenly" reported at the end of the season it did not spend any money on its roster. Whether you choose to connect the dots or simply continue to think McMahon's awful tenure was just because he "had no money" is your call.
2. They weren't feeding the narrative to "protect McMahon". He didn't need to be "protected". He already had the job and the people in charge weren't going to fire him. The outward reason was to appease gullible fans with an absence of critical thinking skills that LSU was retaining the coach with the worst 3 year record in the SEC, who was coming off another bottom of the SEC finish, because he was a "good coach" who simply could not get good players. Except for the approximate 2 dozen fans that genuine believed McMahon was a good SEC HC rolling along with him as HC without some justification made no sense.
The unspoken and real reason for the narrative and public vote of confidence was to cutoff the behind the scenes political push, some might call it a demand, that Tate and Woodward rehire Wade. Those two weren't rehiring Wade under any circumstances so they simply made sure to tell the public the LSU job wasn't open so the push for Wade would not get louder. You saw what that defiance resulted in in the following months. Within 13 months Tate, Woodward, and McMahon were ALL no longer employed by LSU. That wasn't a coincidence. The first big domino to fall towards that ultimate conclusion started in February 2025 when Tate/Woodward told the wrong political people "no"
Wade's ultimate rehiring was months in the making. The first steps were getting the two losers who prevented it out of the way so the biggest could be cast aside despite the protest of the 15 people in the PMAC who just knew McMahon was destined for greatness..."next year"

Alt, you're wasting your breath with that imbecile.
He's either being intentionally obtuse, or has ZERO ability to read between the lines in regard to what's actually going on.
Your explanation on the decision/circumstances to bring McMahon back for a 4th year is damned close to unimpeachable.
There are still simpletons on the rant that believe 2 and 2 equals 5.

all of this is speculation

all of this is a fun theory and it seems credible there was pressure to re-hire wade. we have in fact seen the coming of the lake Charles crew, the wade friends.
the made up bit is your theory that the university was leaking false stories about the funding of McMahon's team. the proof you have offerered is that you put it in quotes.

Who is practicing with the team? All players, or has anyone dropped out?
lots of people are practicing:
Luke Stansbury
Abdi Bashir Jr.
Austin Nunez (injured)
Donovan Dent
Bradley Fife
Jordan Bender
Mo Dioubate
Strake "big neck" Pearson
Michael Ružic
Divine Ugochukwu
the eligibility of these players is in question:
Skyy Clark
Saliou Niang
Brice Dessert
Gilad levy
RJ Luis Jr. is believed to maybe be out of the picture. unclear.

who do we expect to start
if all those but Luis is eligible I would like:
dent
clark
niang
ruzic
dessert
could be diabate over ruzic or niang, I don't know. I am not sure if ruzic will play the 4 or just back up the 5.

dessert has not played yet.

hard to say. I think ruzic will be all SEC freshman team. I think he looks awesome.
wade has compared niang to tari Eason. that's very good. he has not played yet.
Thank you
That's exactly what I was looking for. I don't want to get bogged down in the "this coach vs that coach" crap, which seems to be 99% of the basketball posts here. I couldn't care less about that stuff, and frankly it's irrelevant (or MOOT

As I've said many times, the proof was circumstantial. You aren't going to get Woodward or Tate to give a sworn deposition to get the smoking gun you want. But many, many court cases are proved on circumstances leading to the obvious conclusion. Just like the circumstances last year for months told anyone who wasn't obtuse that Wade was coming back to LSU. Yet, MANY refused to use a small bit of critical thinking to see that inevitable conclusion coming a mile away: (President and AD who fired him and refused to rehire him, gone; McNeese president named LSU president; Big supporter and donor Wade in LC named LSU BOS chair; total silence about McMahon after yet another miserable season; reports that McNeese AD was going to be hired by LSU). Those dominos were steadily falling. Yet, we had people who were either too dumb to recognize them, or just refused to do so because they desperately wanted to believe a different reality.
So yet again, here is your evidence
1. NIL funding is committed in the spring/early summer. If a team hasn't spend any money, that would be known well before the season for anyone willing to look. Yet, the implied argument that LSU spent little money on its roster didn't arise until February, at a time LSU was near last place en route to another shitty season. The report that came out at the time was LSU was going to retain MM and increase the NIL expenditure...implying that what it did that season wasn't enough and the cause for he losing
2. The story was broken by a guy who covers football recruiting. That's an odd person to get the scoop. But he also was married to a member of the athletic dept.
3. It's not speculation that there was a push for LSU to hire Wade at the end of the 25 season. A certain person who has an office in the State Capitol demanded LSU hire Wade. Those who had the power to do so refused. That's why a few months later both were out. The Governor holds grudges and keeps score. If you are against him, he gets you out of the way. Tate and Woodward did not want to deal with the Wade problem. So no matter how bad MM sucked, they were not going to make the LSU job open at the same time Wade was in Louisiana. It wasn't going to happen. But they were also smart enough to know that MM had the basketball program at rock bottom and coming out and saying "we are keeping him simply because we think he's doing a good job" wasn't going to instill any hope in the dwindling customer base. They had to give the fans some reason to think things would be different and that all of the losing wasn't because of the HC they were inexplicably about to keep for a 4th year. To their credit, it worked! We had and STILL have dumbasses who think the miserable last 4 years of LSU basketball occurred for any and every reason except MM was just a bad coach.

yes this is perfectly credible and obvious. again, this is not what I am disputing.
I am disputing your claim that you have evidence that LSU conspired to lie to the press about the finances of the McMahon program, which is what I believe you are claiming by calling things "odd". you are making vague claims using weasel words to avoid defending your central claim.
you don't know how much McMahon had to spend, do you? you cant rule out any claims, can you? your pretense here that he actually had X while the university claimed Y is, as far as I can tell, made up.

If/when Niang becomes eligible, he isn't coming off the bench. Coaching staff loves him, and thinks he can be the best defender in the SEC this season.
