How do you know that they didn't? You think they would theoretically do all of this in public? Not that there would be an even remote possibility that he would answer the phone call because there are multiple significantly better job openings in college basketball right now.

I mean, this is a first ballot hall of fame level terrible arse post.
Gotta imagine Hamilton and Chambers will follow Wade.

he's going to get paid more this year than he would if he went to the draft. Now in the long run...

Yes. It's all about getting to the second NFL contract, getting closer to fully vested NFL retirement, etc. Seems short-sighted.

I think he will end up back at Ole Miss in the fall, but I'm also confused as to why. Had an article on my feed this morning about the battle between Simpson and Nuss for the second QB taken. Seems like Chambliss is missing an opportunity at being a first rounder.

I am the furthest thing from a QB-talent evaluator though, so I'm sure I am missing something obvious.

By "at this point" do you mean the last 40 years?

I ultimately agree that he stays put, but the Steelers job is the greatest case study in financial security this world has ever seen. You can't completely disregard an organization who has shown the willingness to always give people 20 years to figure it out.

Where's the one a-hole that was in earlier threads claiming that his buyout was 550M?

And if he takes another step up at LSU, maybe Heisman, who knows, he could improve his draft stock even more and get more NFL $$

Exactly. Follow the Nussmeier gameplan. Oh wait....

I think ultimately it is immaterial. I love Frank Wilson, but recruiting is different than it was when he made his name originally. Our running game has been absolutely atrocious in the past years also. It's difficult to watch at times.

I think the biggest key for OM going forward will be right at the top. I recall an interview where Orgeron stated that his biggest mistake when getting his first HC job at Ole Miss was trying to run a program with the mindset of an assistant or a coordinator. If Golding can delegate and manage the entire corporation (including the exterior forces that every program has) then they will do fine. Too much money and push from the conference and from the OM AD to completely fall off the table.

They might be waiting on Brian Hartline

Why would they have to wait to announce that? Seems like everyone on both sides would be amicable about the guy taking a major promotion, coaching the playoffs, and then heading to Penn State afterwards. If that was the move, there are no negatives to announcing it now.

Frank was Lane’s WR coach at Tennessee, right? Maybe that’s the move.
Baker is going to get the Tulane job, and he deserves it. What he did this season was tremendous

So national title either way? Awesome.

aw frick, that changes everything

re: If he signs extension

The new contract (or contract extension) will have a new buyout congruent with the length of term and new pay rate. So it definitely will not "mean nothing". It will probably mean 100 mill or more "somethings".

Vanables and Freeman cosign.

Bob Stoops looks on from afar and nods approvingly.
Joshua Edwards - from the Opelousas area. Not sure of the connection with Liberty of how it came about.

My memory is absolutely terrible, but was he in the same class as Tack Minor? Could that have been the reason we weren't so hot on Tweety?
