Clark is eligible again. Kentucky judge issued an injunction in the case involving him. The NCAA will appeal this to the same panel that dissolved the TRO.
Given the pace of these cases, Dent and Clark should be good to go for the start of the season. The appeal in Clark's case will likely come up before Dent's case.

how?
Presumably the same way it would be known in last full month of that season. Teams aren't signing new players mid-season. That means whatever money was committed to get them to sign was committed in March-June prior to the season. So if a team spends a lot, or a little on a roster, that number is determined well before the season.
quote:
says who? how odd? what do you mean by odd, why don't you just say directly what happened, according to you?
Maybe itis just me, but most would agree that a guy whose entire career focused football recruiting breaking a basketball story would be an odd person to break the story. Zero people who cover basketball had this information? Only the guy who evidently covers 5* WRs and basketball NIL funding?
quote:
I am disputing your claim that you have evidence that LSU conspired to lie to the press about the finances of the McMahon program, which is what I believe you are claiming by calling things "odd". you are making vague claims using weasel words to avoid defending your central claim.
The timing and the source are the evidence. Here's the report from Feb 17, 2025:
quote:
LSU basketball is not expected to make a head coaching change this season in spite of another disappointing performance for the Tigers.
According to a report from Shea Dixon with On3 Sports, LSU is expected to retain head coach Matt McMahon following the end of the season. The Tigers are 13-12 overall and just 2-10 in the SEC, recently beating Oklahoma to snap a 7-game losing streak.
Dixon also reports that LSU plans to increase its focus on building the NIL budget for the basketball program. The Tigers were reportedly among the lowest spenders in the SEC, and the results back that up
The season would not end for another month. Anyone who might have given a damn about LSU basketball had already stopped caring by that point in the season. If LSU was in mid Feb intending to keep MM they wouldn't have to report anything. He had multiple years left on his contract. But out of nowhere comes a report that LSU is keeping MM and increasing its NIL because it was "reportedly" among the lowest in the SEC. It wasn't reportedly among the lowest when LSU was "flying high" with wins over K-State, UCF, and FSU in Nov.-December. But now its among the lowest...because LSU sucks and some were looking to anything to attribute that too other than the obvious answer...MM blew as a coach.
MM sucked as a HC from day 1. Then a small, but dedicated group of fans (mostly out of a desire to be contrarians) spent the next 4 years trying to conjure up every reason to blame the losing on anyone and everything BUT McMahon.
I've truly never seen a coach who was so bad have such an ardent group of excuse makers. Somewhere Hudson "Curley" Hallman is eating a bag of Golden Flake chips wondering where these bleeding hearts were in the early 90's

I am asking YOU how you know. how did you get access to the numbers? FOIA?
quote:

this is just a list of logical fallacies and non-points one after the next. I don't care if its just you, or who would agree. I am asking how you had access to the financials.
quote:

this is weak.
here is the central relevant claim:
"LSU plans to increase its focus on building the NIL budget for the basketball program. The Tigers were reportedly among the lowest spenders in the SEC,"
your claim is that this is a lie. but you have been unable to provide any numbers. you do not have access to the numbers required to make the claim.
to prove your point you need to show how much they were spending, and how much everyone else was spending. you dont have that data.
seems possible to me that nobody was excited to fund bland McMahon and his budget was low. you claim that's not true, but have no convincing evidence. since LSU was lying, why don't you tell us where LSU was ranked in the SEC in basketball spend and who told you?
this is not a defense of mcmahon. if he was underfunded he should have raised money.

Awesome news. Hopefully LSU can play Ugo, Clark, and Bashir in spurts to give Dent a breather.

If you went on vacation for a week and the house across the street from you was reduced to nothing but charred remains and ash, would you be able to CORRECTLY deduce that it had burned to the ground without someone providing your ignorant arse with a play by play recap????

what was LSU's budget relative to the other SEC schools in the mcmahon years? your contention is that it was above average? based on what? mcmahons charm?
you mcmen are wild

I’ll ask you for the umpteenth time, what is the money for?
Posted on 10/16/26 at 9:55 pm to jamarr
IT'S IMPOSSIBLE to be civil when dealing with the village idiot.
Every little facet in a situation doesn't have to be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt except to simpletons like yourself.
You don't need to know McMahon's budget down to the penny when you see him sign top 25 recruiting classes and still finishing dead last.
Here's a hint: McMahon would not have been able to sign top 25 classes without having a competitive NIL budget. I don't know McMahon's budget, nor do I need to know it to reach a statement that would be described as logical, common sense.
People who lack logic and common sense (jamarr) aren't able to process and come to sensible conclusions like this.
So they become ONE BILLION PERCENT literal, and insist that logical conclusions can't be reached unless you witnessed it, or "where there."
If your ridiculous attitude was applied to police detective work, there would hardly ever be a conviction.

Jamarr, let's pretend you know a dude that owns a $10 million dollar home, an array of rare, exotic sports cars, and takes vacations all over the world constantly.
Let's also assume you ask him how.much money he makes/is worth, and he told you it's none of your business, weirdo.
Would you be able to come to the logical conclusion that the SOB is absolutely loaded, or would you still need a copy of his W2/portfolio to prove it to you???

His argument is built around the fact that NIL isn’t disclosed to anyone. He knows he’s wrong but nobody can precisely answer his non question so he keeps trolling. The reason he refuses to answer the simple question I’ve presented to him for 3 years straight is because it would dismantle his argument. We have the proof of the budget and the reason for the budget which makes the exact number irrelevant but he’ll never go near that fact because it exposes him.

I'm of the opinion that he's being intentionally obtuse.
Every day life involves processing reasonable assumptions that don't need proof beyond a shadow of a doubt to make decisions.
Or quite possibly he's just an idiot.

100%
This is why I ask what the money is for. The answer is simple, to get the best possible players. He won’t answer because if you can afford multiple top 15 classes you don’t have a budget issue and his argument dies.

Absolutely. Intentionally abuse with a stroke of attempted condescension. Frankly, not worth my time.

He might just be a dishonest moron. Look at his last post, a simple analogy went right over his head.

To be fair, these people did not intend to be contrarians. They intended to set LSU basketball on a more moral arc, and also win in the process. They were f**king retards, but that was their intent

You’re vastly mischaracterizing their motives. This goes back to 2021, the first post Covid season where this little cabal started to say that Wade wasn’t winning enough anymore and regressing. They said he wasn’t worth the trouble and anyone could do what he was doing. Enter McMahon and the line from them was that not only was he a better recruiter, he was a better coach. Since that time all their arguments have been about justifying their claims, not about the well being or success of the program. That’s why you had the constant excuse making, the calls to retain him as he failed at an unprecedented level, the attempted censorship of all things Wade and the absolute terror and denial around the prospect of his return. It had nothing to do with ethics, it had everything to do with ego.
