Exactly what do you wanna do put a statue out in front of Tiger Stadium for him? I mean it’s tragic, What happened to him, It happens in colleges all over the United States. We don’t need to make a Martyr out of him,

They should definitely do something to honor him in someway, but I don’t think it’s something that should publicly exist long after that. Like I don’t think having a decal on the back of the helmet for the season would be a good look, or something like that.

I think with almost any tragic situation, people can use it for positive or negative. There is an increasing push within all sports to take care of mental health as well as physical. Kyren made mistakes, and the accumulation of all the stress and anxiety or maybe even guilt boiled over to a point that he found life not worth living anymore. If you care about these young men, you shine a light on it. Not everyone on the team will be a star, but all of them will have to deal with tough life circumstances. To just ignore it would be a disservice to them, and maybe to Kyren as well.

It’s actually an interesting question and it would be fascinating to be a fly on the wall in the PR department while they decide how to handle it. On one hand you have an extremely good player who was pretty likable on the field, on the other hand he didn’t have it together at all off the field and violently killed himself while he was undergoing a trial for murdering someone. There are people who make a living deciding how to handle situations like this going forward and it’s an interesting case study in PR because it’s such a crazy, polarized situation.
Since the internet, and thus social media, was put in the public’s hands, it’s amazing to me how much money has been spent on this very topic. Just ask the Board of Astronomer….

It’s a sad reality of these young kids getting paid big $. For many of them, their whole family becomes dependent on them. They haven’t even had the chance to make and learn from basic life mistakes yet.

It seems you already had an agenda coming into this thread and you are just trying to twist what people to say to fit into your preconceived narrative.

That ain’t right
Why? He made a selfish choice and left the scene of an accident he caused. Why should we put him on a pedestal? Hes got more in common with RP with regards to LSU legacy than you probably want to admit.
If anything, this is a good reason to address mental health issues. If you think your boys are okay, you’d better check and not just assume they are.

It’s actually crazy that this is what you are taking from this thread

This was literally at SEC media days and posted to the official LSU twitter.

RP didn’t kill 2 people, that’s a pretty gigantic bar between the two

We’ve all talked this to death months ago. Very sad all around.
Why are you bringing it up now? Get a life.

Will the program look back fondly on his contribution? Ignore him altogether? Use his story as a warning to others?
I don’t think LSU needs to say or do anything. It doesn’t reflect on LSU at all. It didn’t happen on LSU’s campus.

This is virtue signaling to distract from the fact that it was indeed a gratuitous question.

Seems like you guys are back to “business as usual” and want to forget he exists
I haven’t given him any thought at all since a few days after his death tbh.
And technically he no longer exists, so it should be “…want to forget he existed.”

We should wait until his attorney Matthew Ory completes his investigation and tells us how Kyron was an innocent victim.

I have no idea why literally everything needs an official stance these days. Let that kid’s family and friends mourn.
Why do you care what LSU’s “official stance” is?
What is your official stance on your neighbor’s cousin’s ex’s goldfish who passed away in 2007?
