Ever been to Cameron Indoor Stadium? I can assure you, the top players in the sport don't go to Duke because of how nice Cameron is.....likewise, they aren't coming to LSU because of hiw nice the Box is (or staying away because of how nice it isn't

They’re coming to The Box because the seats have butts in them……and that billboard out in RF helps too.

I got a feeling this is this answer.

Woodward's first choice was the douchebag Florida coach O'Sullivan. Jay Johnson is here despite Woodward not because of him

This!!!

Woodward meddled way too much. That was his downfall IMHO.

You know what they say, crappy dress rehearsal perfect play.

I think a lot of people will be surprised by his instincts and quick feet. Dude moves very well on the base paths as well as good footwork around the bag.

I'm still waiting for that video of the Triple he had last year

You coming to the scrimmage today??

How has Yorke looked defensively in the past scrimmages?

Last Friday, Coach called for a suicide squeeze. Bunt was successful towards first. Yorke made it there, grabbed the ball and threw the runner out at home. Was really nice play by Yorke.

I downvoted you specifically for using the word “frankly”, you weirdo.

Weirdo?? I can’t stop laughing. I’ve been called a lot of things in my 61 years, but weirdo isn’t one of them.

Frankly, Scarlet my dear, I don’t give a damn!!

Little dude had a cramp there at the end!!!

People worried about concessions at a scrimmage
Probably should just stay home
No food trucks will be lined up outside

When they scrimmage another team, the concessions are open. Frankly, for some of the scrimmages, they would actually make money if they opened a small stand. They are that popular.

No doubt dbl that price and cut the huge losses.

So, here's the deal. Blanding is mostly right about all the other sports besides FB and MBB. However, he's not correct about baseball. Most seasons, Baseball breaks even or comes close enough. However, if they make it to Omaha OR have to travel for Regional/Super Regional, then it comes in at a loss.

I recently had lunch with the President of the TAF and one of the top fund raisers. The following is the bottom line:

1. Baseball season ticket renewal every year stands at 99+%

2. Tickets are cheap.

3. The TAF contribution is where the number climbs when talking about Grandstand tickets or Champions Club tix.

4. LSU will NOT consider raising the ticket prices (more than double has been recommended) as they do not want to risk losing the renewal rate of 99+%. Remember, the sport breaks even unless it's an Omaha year or a year good enough to go to an away Regional/Super Regional. The school is ok with that.

5. My biggest pet peeve, and the one I'll likely get downvoted the most for, LSU, every year, sells season tix for baseball via renewal in the name of a person who has been in the grave for over a decade. In some instances, the tickets have changed hands 3 to 4 times from the original owner. Those who remember the Saban years, remember FB tix used to be this way. As a NC was at hand, the school basically took all those tix (some were offered a 1 time amnesty, but not all) and resold them to people willing to pay more. For those who downvote this, tell me this, how fair is it to the above posters (and me) who have been on the waiting list for years to be constantly told NO so someone who never had to wait in line could just renew every year because they got lucky?

The size check I was willing to tender for season tix (just 2) in the Grandstand was substantial. I was told to keep my money and consider putting it into The Oaks for a better chance later down the line.....maybe. I have met many who are in the same boat. The school and the TAF would gain a lot of money if they were willing to re-shuffle the way football did years ago. I was told they know it but don't care. To be fair, that was during the Scott W time, so there might be a re-think in the near future but I'm not holding my breath.

Yes, of course, money makes the world go round. I don’t for a second think that baseball is getting anywhere close to the same treatment as football.

But, we can give baseball a lot more than 2.1% in rev share, etc.

LSU baseball is far and away the most consistently good product LSU has had for the past 30-40 years… we should invest what is needed to keep it there.

FIFY

No, because there is no one reporting on personal conversations. There is no one reporting that they had to stop going after Jarren Advincula to put all their remaining resources on Landon Mack. And then the money that was earmarked for Landon Mack was taken from the baseball program and given to women's basketball. And at the time Vitello left, Mack still had not been paid what was promised. I don't purport to know everything about college baseball. But sometimes I actually know how things really are.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. You’re spot on. I would assume most posting in this thread have no clue where the money comes from and that’s ok. But a little homework would probably help them. The comment about we lose money now because of the higher coaches salary was humorous. I would assume he doesn’t know that the majority of CJJ’s salary comes from the TAF. He probably also doesn’t know that baseball usually breaks even except for the years we go to the CWS and/or have to go on the road to a Regional/Super Regional.

This I know. CJJ keeps many things quiet. He speaks his concerns, NOT through the media, but directly to those who can affect change.

The other forgotten/ignored fact is LSU ranks THIRTEENTH in the SEC in actual dollars for baseball revenue sharing. I didn’t have to look that up. Jay told me in October.

Oh I almost forgot. It was 1-2 days before the finals in Omaha started when the recently fired AD called CJJ in Omaha to tell him his portion of revenue sharing was $240K. That took some balls.

“I’m still waiting for the video”
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted so much. Yorke could easily be the fan favorite by the time the SEC schedule comes around. He pulled off a Tre Morganesque put out at home on a bunt with the runner on third going home at the scrimmage yesterday. He’s got power to spare.

In his 3 years at Grand Canyon, he hit 32 HR, 157 RBI and 127 runs. Last year alone he hit .339 with 10 doubles, a triple, 13 HR, 46 RBI and 36 runs.

We are so thankful and live off of Tiger Rant, until we lose a game

Sage advice.

Kind of crazy that baseball didn't profit, but it's not structured as a profitable sport.

The baseball team usually breaks even. It loses money when they go to Omaha (2 1/2 weeks) or have to travel for Regional and Super Regional.

Baseball also loses money because the school refuses to raise ticket prices. They could prob raise the price 50-100% and still sell out. Same for WBB and gymnastics.
Will try to make Friday, weather cooperating.

I am trying to identify the plane..not a Cessna 310 so not one of my family's...?

It's a Beech 18.
What?? That's a Beech 18. In fact, just from what I can see there, looks like it might be a WW2 leftover. Nice plane. LOOOONNNNGGG operational period.
