What kind of college life would you have led with NIL $ in your pocket?

Would you have saved it for when the music stops?
Would you have blown through it before college was over?
Would you have given some to your family?

Would love to say yes, but I know how I was in college....probably not

Most likely! Partying and buying crap I didn't need.

Absolutely! My parents struggled when I was young. The first thing I would have done is write them a check...then blown the rest on "hookers and blow" haha

I would not have had a car my frat bros called "The Deathmobile"
Would not have had to "fast" on Sunday because I didn't have any money and the cafeteria was closed on weekends.

I dunno, I don't think i could have spent it all. You already get free school, free living space, free food, free workout space and lounges, free clothes. I'd probably pay cash for a pretty nice car, and travel when I can. I'd jist invest the rest.

I would have saved some. I saved a good bit even when I was a broke college student. Would have been some simple mutual fund investing.

No, but I would have bought stuff I probably didn't need. I would have traveled to a lot more sporting events for sure. I make decent money now, and I still drive a 10 year old Silverado because I haven't had a note for 6 years.

I would try, but they wouldn't accept it. I am a grown man with a wife and 3 kids, and when I invite my parents to dinner, my dad refuses to let me grab the bill. I would have to do it in the form of things they want/need as a gift. They would not take cash.
We were very comfortable growing up, and my parents were involved in teaching me how to manage money. I was required to put aside 25% of any paycheck I made in high school (which wasn't much when minimum wage $5.75 an hour), pay for my own gas, etc.

probably not much different other than the women

I hope I would have had enough sense to keep it in the bank instead of my pocket, but that may be too much to ask of a 20 year old.

I don’t know how I didn’t die and I was broke in college. So NIL $, dead is my answer.

I was in school on an academic scholarship and I would have flunked out, probably in the first semester. I was too young and foolish to handle that sort of money.

I thought about that a few weeks ago.
When I played baseball in college I was told I could weed eat around the outside of the stadium and I would be paid $1000 a month. I did it one time and the money kept coming. I was also allowed to eat for free at 2 local fast food joints.
This was in the 90’s and under the table, so I can only imagine how good it would’ve been if they didn’t have to hide it.

Depends on the money....but hypothetically speaking...if I was a millionaire in college....
The living situation would have been drastically improved to a nice house somewhere.
The automobile situated would have been drastically improved.
The partying would have stayed the same (already did a lot of that at LSU)...maybe expect for always paying the tab for my buddies
So outside of the house, I probably would have saved a good bit of it.

I'd have spent 90% on hookers and blow. And wasted the other 10%.

I would have upgraded my apartment and vehicle at least, to be at the level of my boss.
In BTR in 1985, I worked at a local software company and my boss was only in his mid 20's, but had plenty of cash. Family money. He rented this fabulous house and had a newer Porsche.
I was sitting in his office one day when he opened a birthday card from his mother, a check for $10,000 fell out. In 1985, in front of a starving college student. Bastard.

Well, draft beer cost a quarter back then so I'd have probably flunked out & ended up in Nam. Where my fellow soldiers would have been more at risk than any Charlies.

And on a related note, your pro prospects.
If you're a 5 star projected to be a first round draft pick you make serious NIL bank and assume a lot more money is still coming.
If you're a borderline college talent but made an iconic play in a rivalry game you make good NIL money but know the spigot will be turned off so you save it.
If you're a no name you make minimal NIL dollars and use them for living expenses.
