I would not have had a car my frat bros called "The Deathmobile"
Would not have had to "fast" on Sunday because I didn't have any money and the cafeteria was closed on weekends.
I wouldn’t have traded in my meal ticket for $500 and sneak extra pieces of Mr Gatti’s pizza buffet.
Would probably still do ‘drinkin with Lincoln’ at The Dugout.

Man I was jank poppin all over that place back when the chicks were actually fine.
That’s mostly a joke but I did work there and meet my wife working behind the bar.

I would have saved at least 80%. I think it would have been a huge distraction from putting in study time.

Fred’s bombs for everyone.

Not a whole lot different….but depends on how much money I actually have.
I would get a betttter apartment than the one my brother and I lived in.
Damn sure wouldn’t be eating as much ramen and boxed Mac and cheese,
Would try to help my mom out some,

Me and my buddy’s talk about this. One said he would have flamed out after the first paycheck. I would have lasted as long as the blow and ludes would’ve allowed, maybe 2-3 paychecks. I was lucky to live thru it broke.
We all had nice careers and are retired now, but we were wild child’s back in late 70’s.

We had NIL back in the 1980’s. They just called it a summer job and ticket sales. I lived like Willie Wonka. I lost a lot of kids in different girls chocolate factories.

What kind of college life would I have had with NIL $ in my pocket ?…the kind I would have looked back on and realized how stupid I was !!!!!

I would have maxed out any tax advantaged retirement accounts i could, but would have blown a substantial chunk.

A car, beers for everyone all of the time, dvd’s, video games, shoes, weed, blockbuster late fees… Same as the first go round, but x 10 probably what I would have spent it on.

A good friend of mine played in the SWC, back in the 80’s. That’s when in 1987 SMU received the Death Penalty. Now payments at some schools started in the 70’s.
My friend, being a player, had 4 tickets to each game, the ticket’s were in the top of his locker, if he was using them for the game, he would remove them, if left in the locker, the 4 were removed and replaced with 4, $100 bills.
He said they knew when the NCAA was coming in, as to all the nice players cars, were parked a couple blocks away.
It was later revealed, Eric Dickerson, who ended up at SMU, had allegedly received a new gold Pontiac Trans Am as part of his recruitment to Texas A&M.

You don't need NIL money for that, just a couple of thousand dollars.

I would like to see a graph that shows both the number of high class hookers and the volume of blow in and around campus plotted on the y-axis and the year plotted in the x-axis going back at least 20 years. I bet the slope increases considerably the year NIL started.
