It could be that Kelly has told him not to and is protecting him from injury.

There was a 3rd and 2 in the USC game where he handed off to the RB and the defense literally crashed inward on the play and stopped us short.

That happened the WHOLE game, not just once. Either he was told not to pull the ball or he was scared to pull the ball. I still can't believe Sloan didn't tell him at half to pull it and run.

My fear is that they told him "don't ever pull the ball and run" .

Any middle school DC will eat that up.

We're talking about pocket presence tho. Awareness and movement.

Joe used to manipulate where defenders rushed by moving. He moved them into blocks. Nuss has rushed a few time btw.

Ok Dumbazz, Mr research. It could have 2nd or 4th down. I know he had several
Opportunities to pick up a few yards for a first down and he didn’t do
It !!

I noted that this was my key complaint versus USC.

Those RPO’s seemed to be designed runs only.

He had a few opportunities to pull the ball and run into open space. He didn’t. So either he chose poorly, or…he had no choice.

Perhaps they are concerned with him picking up a knock.

You have a slinger with a couple of questionable backups and you want him to run more? Yeah, probably not.

Give him time… he’ll take advantage of the running opportunities.

He could prove me wrong, but I don’t that he’s anywhere close to Burrow when it comes to athleticism and running.

Nuss is small. He is not a big guy.

Y’all underestimate Burrow’s game here, especially prior to the knee injury.

The kids don’t call him Joe Sheisty for nothing — he was so elusive in the pocket & deceptively quick when he needed to get out of it.

Nuss can keep a defense honest, he’s not the pillsbury throwboy. But he’s not on JB’s level in that regard.

I also think they should introduce some RPO packages with Collins in certain situations

Cecil does have three years of eligibility left.

Mentioning Nuss and Burrow in the same breath about anything QB related is malpractice.

What I've learned from post-2019...

Slinger was a great play caller.

Nuss is athletic. He can move around and take off if he wants to its just not something that he is going to do consistently. But he is far from a statue in the pocket.
