Let’s make this assumption:
Weis regrets moving on w/Kiffin to LSU. He is STILL coaching as OC/Play caller at ole Ms and is being catered to and recruited by Ole Ms as Asst HC/ OC with similar or more $$ (tampering.. but meaningless). His $7.5M buyout with LSU is nullified if he leaves (before April) for a NFL contract but not a College position.
So with that:
Eli Manning uses his contacts with the NYG and they hire Weis. He then suddenly decides to leave for the Ole Ms position (asst HC/ OC). He now has complete control of the Ole Ms offense and has navigated around the would be LSU buy-out!

As luck would have it, Louisiana produce two elite offensive tackles one year apart!
Lance wanted to play LT but wasn’t ready to sit behind Will Campbell.
Additionally LSU had Emory Jones, also a year older than Heard, at RT!
Watching the Music City Bowl and Heard is dominating!!
Timing is everything. Tenn’s gain, LSU’s loss.

He went for the tv exposure not to coach.
He will evaluate the film of the game, determine who on this LSU squad is a is worthy of recruiting. Many will be processed but there are 15-25 players Lane may want that are deemed to be talented enough players to contribute to a National Championship team.
