SEC uses legal finagling to sidestep prohibitions to file a lawsuit against a member. A suit that most legal experts agree has little likelihood of success.
Now, the SEC cries about the defendants motion to dismiss.
This motion to dismiss is a routine first response in civil litigation, especially when the defendants believe the plaintiff lacks jurisdiction, standing, a live controversy, proper venue, or a legally valid claim, this is common and strategically sensible.
the conference says the filing came while the parties were negotiating a possible resolution, this is also an infantile response. If dismissal is the most likely outcome, a legal team would be remiss not to file.

I hope they quit this league before having to pay $1. Enough is enough and it will never end if they get a judgment for anything and LSU pays it.

Nah, LSU will smartly just let this play out then when the inevitable time comes where LSU can get a better opportunity - like a super conference bid - they will absolutely slit the SEC's throat and rightfully so.
LSU has 2 of the 3 highest rated games so far this season in NCAA ball. Better start showing more respect to a founding member.

I just can't believe the Chambliss situation.
A kid who is currently violating 5 for 5 rules. NCAA said no twice. Is playing a 6th year because of tonsillitis. But, somehow it's crickets from the SEC.
I mean...that is a bigger slap in the face than two 5 year kids, one of whom never suited up. And didn't neither of them play in preseason games? I can't remember.

What did the SEC expect the LA Attorney General to do, stay in the lawsuit without? The SEC has no claim against the AG.

It’s personal for Stankey. The only people that was part of the TRO is the two LSU were trying to add this to the roster. Every other player are on college rosters.and some of them are on SEC teams.

Incredible to think Alabama (Bediako) and Ole Miss (Chambliss) defying the governing bodies of college athletics is within Greg Sankey’s threshold for tolerance, while LSU not playing two athletes with an exceptional eligibility case is the last straw that warrants crippling punishments

Totally agree. Ar-kansas has two guys rostered that are in similar positions as the two guys in question at LSU.

Screw the SEC with that BS statement.
You can't file a BS lawsuit and then say you are disappointed that the other side is defending themself against said lawsuit.
If the SEC wanted to settle it without legal procedures then don't file a lawsuit in the first place!

They think that Tony Clayton works for LSU or is an LSU Alum. Neither are true.
Tony is about to make the SEC suffer as well as the playoff committee and UTenner bitch President as well as ole piss AD. He will file charges against Chambliss and pull in every university they have to visit in those states.

The article is wrong it says the SEC filed for dismissal. It was the Louisiana AG. I hope we don't agree to any sort of settlement, we need our day in court. Discovery alone will be enough to get them to beg to drop it. They don't want all those texts and emails between the presidents talking about how can we figure out a way to punish LSU coming out into the light.
