Should LSU baseball host a regional more than 40% of the time?

If not, what do you think is reasonable?

For a program that bills themself as “The Powerhouse” hosting a regional only 40% of the time seems low

Is it not reasonable to expect “the Powerhouse” to be a top 16 team every year?

We should, in my opionion, host a baseball regional every season 100% of the time. The LSU standard demands as much! You dont come here to play ball in another teams stadium! Alex Box was built to unleash the wrath of over 10,000 bayou brawlers upon the poor soles who choose to enter!

Yes it should be like 80% of the time but when you are winning nattys at the clip of 2/4 or 2/5 we can allow down seasons.

LSU baseball in 10 years should look something like this:

In regional 10/10
Regional host 8/10
In supers 6/10
Omaha 3/10
Natty 2/10

What if they win national championships 40% of the time? Unacceptable?

Let’s hope that’s easier to sustain than regional hosting

Okay, but instead of beating around the bush, ask what you want to ask? Are you unhappy in totality with jay johnsons first 4.9 years at lsu?

Also, are you willing to look into the reasons why, or just bury your head in the sand and say, the numbers arent good enough? Is their nuance allowed in the discussion?

I'm so glad that your goal is to host a regional. If you aren't good enough to win a championship, than what's the point. Would you rather ne like Arkansas or like Florida St

40% NC percentage is through the roof and obviously more important.

Exactly this. And the same people starting threads like this would be starting them saying how it's unacceptable to coach at LSU and not be able to win it all. Regionals, supers, and just making the CWS aren't enough.

They just pick up the goal post and move them to wherever they need to. If LSU loses to Bama in the softball super this weekend you will witness this same thing.

Paul basically did that after he quit for 10 and 11. He pulled an arky run until he decided to basically retire and stay coaching for 2 more years

Are you willing to trade one of our national titles to bump this number up to whatever you think the percentage should be?

In the current format of the NCAA Tournament, LSU has hosted a regional 17 times as a #1 seed (excluding 1999 when we hosted as a 2 seed).

That's 17/27 seasons, good for 63% of the time.

So let's round up a bit and say that LSU should host a regional 2 out of every 3 seasons.

8/10 years imo. At min 3/4.

Top 16 with our financial capacity and history should do it almost all the time.
