They sanctimoniously admonish LSU and Kiffin, but take no action.

I'd love to see how any fine or punishment at all is justified by them..... LSU didn't do anything.

The only way this issue is "closed" in any way is a public finger wag and some sort of "probation" for LSU and Kiffin.

It's the only path that allows the SEC to save face without landing itself and Sankey, by extension, in further legal hot water.

worst case is a $50k fine from Kiffin, and a $50k fine from LSU
If it's something that small, both Kiffin and LSU should tell the SEC to frick right off. That low means it's just 'something' for Sankey to try and save face.

The meeting was mid morning. I don’t know why anyone thinks there is something to be heard

If there was Ross would have been leaked info from the SEC

Any type of penalty would be a violation of the court ruling, would it not?

Kiffin will be suspended from the spring Crawfish boil and the number of pounds we can boil will be reduced by 20% is the word on the street.

I'm guessing some kind of ridiculously high fine for the SEC to save face.

Fining LSU for not breaking a rule that others in the conference have is not an advisable path for the SEC. The whole point of this exercise is LSU refusing to be singled out for wrongdoing. They are going to have to be fair to LSU, or the others will go down with us. Cooperation is a two-way street. LSU does have enough ammunition to make this very long and very painful for the whole league.

Coach O sends everyone hot gumbo, then they all go to The Winchester for a cold pint and it all blows over.

I can’t imagine that they won’t penalize LSU to some degree, despite there being no real violations other than not bowing down to the SEC’s nonsensical goal post moving. I believe they have to try to save face because of all their vocal outrage at LSU for being solely responsible for the moral decline in college football, and possibly the decline in society itself. The egos and righteous indignation just won’t let them say, “ there is nothing to punish here.” I’m just hoping they have the sense to realize that they would be making a mistake to come with something outrageous, like suspensions, because that will reopen the can of worms.

Legally possible. But it's the least financially impactful option.

All other roads lead to years of litigation that they probably won't win. And doing nothing at all is a significant stain on the SEC's reputation and leaves them looking toothless.

If no expulsions then is this all about what Kiffen said to Holly about the “Pro Players”? Seriously what else?

How can he honestly not be able to speak freely in an interview. If that’s the case. No more interviews. That’s what I would tell them if I were Lane.

Good point. I wonder if Delly realizes he’s been a useful idiot if he gets zero feedback from today’s meeting.
