It is very susceptible to fungus and disease, especially if you have a heavy clay soil that does not drain well. However, a well-maintained St Aug lawn is the best type of grass to prevent weeds due to its aggressive & dense form of growth. Dog urine is going to kill any type of grass that you put. Just try to train it to not pee in the same spot.


You can almost lay sod at any time of the year in South Louisiana but if you can try to aim for late winter/early spring.

My soil is fine. I don't need the nutrients from the topsoil. I need to just level. Any organic material in the topsoil will eventually work its way into the soil and the low spots will reappear.
