Sankey couldn’t even define a professional athlete last week.

Yes Thamel reported that the SEC doesn’t intend to act on this.

They're holding a vote this week. A media member said they had the votes to expel us previously but didn't hold a formal vote. We've gone past the voice of reason here. It's a non-zero chance and I hope they try it.

It goes against the narrative of this thread, but honestly, the conference needs to collectively make the rules they want to play by. Anyone who doesn’t want to abide by those rules is free to leave.

No room for the courts to be so influential in college athletics, IMO.

Their accusation is that LSU actively recruited Pro players to challenge the system and return to college, not that we actually rostered them. They claim that kind of activity is explicitly against SEC bylaws.
No true…

Prior to August 25, 2026, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) did not have a specific, explicit conference-level bylaw or policy governing or blocking the recruitment and signing of professional players attempting to return to college athletics.

After August 25, 2026, it prohibits member schools from adding athletes who have previously signed professional contracts with NFL, NBA, or WNBA teams back to college rosters.
The SEC Pro Athlete BanThe Rule: Approved in a 15-0 vote by SEC presidents and chancellors on August 25, 2026, the policy bans any player who signed a professional sports contract from returning to play in the conference.

LSU is in compliance of that rule.

The SEC and NCAA are as corrupt as it gets. They turn a blind eye to Trinidad, a 24 year old who was granted a 6th year by a corrupt Ole Miss alumni. Had the corrupt judge not granted it, he would have had to go pro. Trinidad is essentially a pro, Ole Miss is playing him, and the SEC and NCAA aren't doing anything about it.

The NCAA and SEC are shameful.

LSU in the Big 10 would be great and would likely be a threat to the SEC. No way the SEC votes us out without assurance from the Big 10 that they wouldn't take us in.

Imagine a conference with the following teams:

Michigan
Ohio State
Penn State
USC
Oregon
Wisconsin
Washington
LSU
Illinois

The money deals would be there, and we'd get LSU football back on CBS lol. We'd get roughly half of what we get now from the SEC each year, but that could probably be negotiated upwards since we bring a unique attraction. Probably could negotiate a roughly $50-60 million a year contract from the Big 10.

Baseball would suffer a lot, though. Basketball could potentially benefit.

Combine a minimum of $46 million a year from Big Ten (maybe up to $50 million or 60 million) with investments from LSU boosters who have repeatedly shown to be willing to do what it takes and I think we'd survive.

frick it, I say let's do it.

Can we show up to this meeting and force a vote to remove Sankey?

So LK follows the rules and does not sign the players and still LSU gets scolded. Only because we will kick everyone's arse this year and win the nc. Fk the SEC. Go Independent and we will dominate the CFP every year.

LSU needs to let the counter/cross claims file asap. Bring in every school that fielded a player who but for a TRO would not have played. The SEC said Chambliss could not play, Ole Piss got a TRO, SEC did nothing. Vandy field a TRO player. Texas field one and just now removed him from roster. Bring them all in and go nuclear.

If LSU gets kicked out of the SEC and that holds . LSU would be damaged goods and we will be black balled by other schools as for scheduling. That would be a terrible position to be in

It’s the only place he can. He can’t call anyone out in person.
