Look, I dislike Ed as much as anyone and am happy he is out.

I also think his love for LSU is maybe the biggest lie he sold.

That said, I have no issue with him wanting and expecting every penny his contract entitles him to. Anyone who says they’d do otherwise is lying.

Umm no that's not how it works, LSU gave him a contract with a buyout. Love and money don't mix, this is business he may very well love LSU but for him to have pity on them when they are firing him is just stupid to think that is a logical thought. College football is a huge business

I’m not sure you should be telling anyone to ban a topic because you find it annoying. You have 33 posts and 30 of them are about Ed Orgeron.

Then again..

Anyhow, he’s getting the buyout that was agreed in his contract. It is what it is. It’s not going to change at this point.

Why is that funny or unbelievable?

because prior to 2016 he never once said anything positive about LSU publicly.

not even when unemployed in 2014. He instead sat down for an article about how much he absolutely adored USC. While at a high school football game an hour from LSU’s campus he only spoke about USC.

You should be upset with Woody for overpaying O. SW wrote up this poor contract that was not in the university’s best interest.

It's pretty trashy to talk about getting your money in a press conference where you are announcing they fired you but the idea that someone can't love LSU and still go after everything they are owed is such a stupid rant talking point

Ogeron loves LSU so much he left before playing a down and negatively recruited against LSU at several stops.

Eh. Do you really think offering enough money will be a problem for any candidate LSU actually wants?

Regardless of his poor coaching or his supposed love of LSU, this is business, this is his livelihood, this is his life. He had to get as much money as legally and contractually possible. Anyone would in his position would do the same. I’m sure if you get laid off and your employment contact has severance pay, you’ll just decline stating “sorry I let the company down I don’t deserve it”. Gimme a break

If he really loved LSU & if he really knew what the LSU standard of performance was, he would have:
1- worked to uphold the standards
2- resigned because he knew he couldn’t uphold the standards

Instead, he knew & chose to halfass the standards. He cut corners, he put LSU’s reputation at risk, he displayed reckless behavior, he couldn’t sustain his initial success.

I suspect he’ll lie to himself just as he has to us & say he did everything with no regrets & be content with his short lived success & his loot. He’ll keep his chest puffed out squander the money on flashy things & not be able to turn it into something that will last either

I think O is a horrible coach/leader/possibly person all around but he has a legally binding contract with LSU. If either side fails to uphold their obligation to a contract, then they're obligated to pay the remainder of the contract. I would be willing to bet if it were you that LSU owed money to, you would be demanding every dime, as you should. LSU is at fault here for signing such a contract. This has nothing to do with love.

LSU standards of performance

Let me tell you a little something son. The standard of performance is being tan AF and Jacked to the teeth. Lsu will keep losing games but that tan will still be elite long after your crying is done.
