I watched them drop for the last couple of weeks. Ended up buying Friday so I could have them in my hand before I leave. I think they will continue to drop

This is such a bullshite take. People aren't going because they are lazy or simply do not want to. This is just some excuse LSU uses when we get outnumbered 80/20 at neutral site games.

Sadly, LSU fans travel in hordes to Omaha 25,000 strong for a whole week way farther north. Atlanta is closer plus we have the heisman trophy winner and the team that can win the national title. LSU should have 30,000 fans there imo
Omaha happens in the summer, not around a major travel holiday and the most financially taxing time of the year.

I'm flying to Atlanta from Chicago with my very young daughter for the semi-final. I really hope we win. If we do, I'll make the trip to New Orleans as well. These opportunities to capture an NC are so rare. In the last 60 years, we've had this chance just three times. It has been nearly a decade since we last played for the NC. Who knows when we will be in this position again? I can't understand why any LSU fan who could afford it would miss this semi-final with tickets still available. Baffling.

Just bought some for $133 each. I think prices will keep dropping. Keep an eye on the Ticket Exchange board this week if you are on the fence.

Because people want to see the championship game and have only so many discretionary dollars and time to spend.
Here's the logic: Spend money on semi final and your team loses. Well that sucks.
Spend money on semi final and your team wins, don't have money/time for Champ game.
Skip, semifinal, go to champ game.
In a perfect world you'd do both but that's not reality for a lot of people.
I agree with this. However, LSU will never be set up with a better scenario than this year for making both games. Drive able semifinal game followed by the championship an hour away for majority of the fan base. LSU sold their allotment out. It’s the OU fans and corporate tickets that are flooding the market.

They are lower compared to what I saw when I bought last week. Pulled the trigger when I read the report that OU also sold their allocation and its officially a sell out ! Remaining ones at least on the LSU side, are the higher seats in each section.

Agree. Our fans don’t travel worth shite anymore. It’s a shame that UGA can send 40K clear across the country for their semifinal game 2 years ago, but we can’t get 20K in Atlanta. Excuses abound...we just played in Atlanta, it’s 3 days after Christmas, we’re holding out for the NC in NOLA. All the same issues they dealt with too, but it didn’t stop them from traveling in huge numbers.
And LOL at these people saying that we had 20K at the SECCG. We had nowhere near that many fans. It was the worst fan showing since 2001.
We haven’t traveled worth a damn to the past several bowl games. Our fan base is getting the reputation like Florida, as one that travels poorly. I’ve never seen fans so quick to make excuses.

There’s 9,400 tickets listed on stubhub. That’s absurd. The market is flooded. Usually there’s like 2-3,000 for a game. Tickets will be super cheap by the day of the game.

Did you stay around for the celebration after the SECCG was over? That's when you could tell we had about 19K fans. That is certainly less than we had in 2003-2005-2007-2011, but it is a decent showing.
Other than UGA, I cannot think of a single football program whose fans travel like they did in earlier years. And watch for what UGA does in the next 2 years...those bandwagoners won't be travelling like they have in 2017-18-19.

I have been monitoring the secondary market and as of this morning they finally have dropped below $100 plus fees. I will be headed there Saturday morning and I'm hoping to grab a seat from someone outside the stadium for hopefully $50 each. The fiesta Bowl only cost me $60 and I sat on the lower-level basically 30 rows from the field.

Yes, I stayed after the game. No where near 20K Tiger fans in the building. Many LSU sections had large numbers of UGA fans in them. Mine sure as hell did.
We have the #1 team in the country, Led by the Heisman trophy winner. Tickets are cheap and it’s an easy drive. All of these excuses are a bunch of bunk.

No reason at all for LSU fans to miss this especially with the prices of tickets now. Our first playoff game and that lame arse excuse we are waiting on the championship game. FWIW I spent almost 2k for 4 tickets I am not missing this

I went to SECCG and am holding out for the Championship game. I can’t afford every game and have to pick my spots. I was afraid of this quandary when the 4-team playoff started. We’re lucky that the championship is in NOLA this year. Go Tigers!

It’s a money situation. People can’t afford to go to the sec championship game, semi final, and national championship game. So they chose. Good thing the game is not Tempe or it would have been worse. Part of the problem with the playoffs. They need to have the semifinals at the higher seeds home stadium.

I’ll be in the Atlanta area for Christmas but I’m supposed to back at work on Friday. It would be a shame if I had car trouble that kept me in Atlanta through Saturday.

With the massive amount of tickets for the Sugar Bowl available starting at $6, I'm not sure UGA is going to travel well for their Bowl Game either. And their drive is a similar distance.
