For anyone still trying to get tickets to the game, they are very much affordable. Would expect the prices to fall throughout the week

I am 5 hours north of Atlanta. I paid a lot for SECCG tickets, but I am waiting this one out. Not sure yet when this week I will pull the trigger. After I do, I’ll need to figure out hotel, and then I also want to pick up tickets for Saints @ Panthers on Sunday for on the way back home.

I'm kinda surprised that the tickets are still pretty cheap less than a week out. There's even a suite available for SIX HUNDRED BUCKS. Man, if I were close I'd go in with a bunch of my boys for that!

I saw some on Stub Hub for $143, $220. Obviously not the greatest seats but certainly affordable.

Of course there were some considerably higher as well.

Demand must be low. LSU fans continue to disappoint.

LSU sold their allotment of 15,000 I believe I read. I bet 5-10k more will buy on secondary market. Many are holding out in the event we play in Nola.

LSU and OU both received 13,000 tickets. LSU has 16,000 requests so LSU sold out. We had about 19,000 at the SECCG when our allotment was 15,900. I expect we'll have maybe 19K again or maybe even 20K.

I expect there will be about 10,000-12,000 empty seats at least in MBS Saturday afternoon. And anyone wanting tickets can get them cheap if you wait long enough. This is a low-demand ticket game unlike the SECCG. And most of the tickets left were given to the people who have them by sponsors.

When I think of how special our team is, it saddens me we have so few fans willing to go to ATL to see us play in a semifinal game. We should have 450K at least at this game.

Why not round to 500K?

Seriously why so low? This is a playoff game. Are people over going to live sporting events?

Because people want to see the championship game and have only so many discretionary dollars and time to spend.

Here's the logic: Spend money on semi final and your team loses. Well that sucks.

Spend money on semi final and your team wins, don't have money/time for Champ game.

Skip, semifinal, go to champ game.

In a perfect world you'd do both but that's not reality for a lot of people.

Atlanta is one of LSU's bigger alumni bases. I'm sure people there are going to the game as well as our fans traveling. LSU will have 60% of the place.

The game is 3 days after Christmas and December is not a time of a lot of discretionary spending for your average fan. It's just the reality of it.

Sadly, LSU fans travel in hordes to Omaha 25,000 strong for a whole week way farther north. Atlanta is closer plus we have the heisman trophy winner and the team that can win the national title. LSU should have 30,000 fans there imo

It’s a semifinal problem. A lot of fanbases are holding out hope for going to the title game. Dropping thousands on road game trips every couple of weeks isn’t feasible for some folks.

Secondary factors. LSU played in the Georgia dome 2 weeks ago and this will be Oklahoma’s 4th playoff appearance (Lost the previous 3).

Imo the semifinal games should be played at the higher seeds home field. When the field expands to 8, this is a no brainer.
