So you are basically saying LSU should cater ONLY to its students and alumni. LSU Football would disappear without the support of the fans that did NOT go there.

You can like it or you can hate it. However, under no circumstances, are you allowed to pull the kid card as your reasoning for hating it. It is not LSU football's job to cater to your toddler. They are not LSU students or alumni. LSU does not owe them anything. The fact of the matter is neck creates an undeniable energy throughout the stadium that truly resonates with the players. If your child can't handle a few bad words than you need to be a better parent. Carry on

LSU doesn't owe the student section anything either - that is why they should be placed at the very top of the West upper deck.

That way they can say whatever kind of stupid shite they want.

Other than the kids:

1) It’s beyond trashy.
2) It reflects poorly on LSU when such filth is being aired on national TV.
3) It’s against Tiger Stadium policy:

quote:

Sportsmanship
LSU encourages its fans to show good sportsmanship and conduct themselves in a manner that represents LSU, the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA with honor, dignity and respect. All fans in attendance shall:

Demonstrate the qualities of civility and sportsmanship at all times.
Refrain from the use of vulgar, abusive, racist, sexist, demeaning or intimidating language at any time.
Always support the players, coaches and officials in a positive manner.
Treat the visiting team, coaches and fans with courtesy and respect at all times.
Refrain from engaging in cheers that are vulgar, crass or demeaning.
Refrain from throwing objects for any reason.
LSU Athletics has high standards of fan behavior for all guests in attendance – failure to comply with the sportsmanship guidelines set forth may result in ejection and loss of future ticket privileges.

frick the players. I want to keep myself happy. And me being happy involves Neck and no Bitch I’m from Louisiana.

Your opened this thread by mentioning children - did you not?

Did you ever think for once that adults don't want to hear "STTDB"? That it might not actually have anything to do with children?

Did you ever think for once that saying "STTDB" is pretty damn stupid - it makes the people sound like complete trashy morons.

Then come on Mr hot shot. Point out any flaws in my post.

To be honest, I don't have strong feelings on the issue of playing neck one way or the other. I can see both sides of the issue.

But, your post is very flawed.

1. You say LSU does not have to "cater" to toddlers, yet by selling tickets for use by the general public, including toddlers, they do take certain responsibilities to provide "appropriate" entertainment, safety and conduct to that public. In addition, the school and conference enjoys lucrative contracts and revenue from television broadcasters which likewise come with responsibilities and restriction. The school seems to be trying to abide by these responsibilities.

2. You seem to be arguing that only students and alumni need to be taken into consideration when determining the appropriate level of conduct that goes on during the game and is witnessed/heard by tens of thousands in the stadium and millions via television. That is simply not the case and would not be nearly as lucrative for the school.

3. If you don't have to take into consideration the age of attendees when deciding what is appropriate, where do you draw the line? Is it acceptable to broadcast XXX porn on the screens during time outs? Snuff films?

I agree that it is certainly a trashy chant. The trashiness of the chant doesn't change the fact that the kid excuse is the dumbest thing posted on this board. Literally nobody cares about your kid except you

Was I the only one who heard the player yell STTDB as he ran past Coach O and his post gane interview toward the north end? It was on SEC Network, live.

Your child isn't buying the ticket from lsu. The parent is buying the ticket from lsu for their child. The parent is responsible for their child, not LSU.

If you decide to bring your child into an environment that you know will include tens of thousands of drunk, irresponsible adults than that's your own decision but lsu isn't responsible for providing a 100% kid friendly environment.

Your 3rd talking point is so retarded that I'm not even gonna comment on it.

I hate it because it’s not unique. A lot of other stadiums do it. May as well be seven nation army.

But that’s the extent of the thought I put into it. I don’t really care one way or the other.

Of you belitits about the kids in the stadium then you are lost. It’s whats portrayed across the nation on television. It’s a cool song that promotes great energy but STTDB is a stupid chant that’s gotten out of control and TV will not allow it on any network.
I do agree though leave the kids at home for major conference games.

No kid card here, but if I wanted to use that argument I would. Instead, I’ll kust leave it as trashy, and call it a day, because that’s all it really is is Trashy... appreciated by low rent base individuals of base intelligence and base morality.
