Why is this news?

Of course we will follow the rules if they are ruled ineligible by the court.

Our position all along has been we follow the court order and if that is reversed we would do the same thing.

Would be really deflating to take an L before the season even starts.

True we have pretty much melted everyone’s brains with our common sense position that if they are eligible we would take them and play them and if not we wouldn’t.

It started with us making ole miss melt and we now have everyone melting.

None of the guys potentially joining the team were on the team 2 weeks ago. There is no L in them not being able to play only a W if they are allowed to play. It's literally lagniappe.

It's not like the court will rule "They can't play at LSU but they can play at Bama, or Texas, or Ole Miss."

This.

And the media has portrayed LSU as a "rogue" program that isn't going to "follow the rules"...like the numerous other schools who will be playing players who are only eligible because of a hometown court ruling.

LSU has always been in the role of 3rd party beneficiary here. It's the PLAYERS who are seeing an injunction against the NCAA, not LSU. LSU is not, nor has ever been a party to this litigation. Now, are the players litigating in Baton Rouge because some of them would play for LSU if the NCAA is prohibited from keeping them from playing? Absolutely. But Lane nor LSU was ever going to play ineligible players.

If the court rules the players are eligible (technically that the NCAA can't enforce its rule to make them ineligible) then LSU will roster them. If not, LSU won't. It's pretty simple

Is there even a remote chance the players lose on Thursday? Doesn’t seem like it

Because it's a rebuttal to the ongoing media implication that Lane is operating outside of the SEC guidelines and plans to do so regardless of the outcome.

Most of us here know the truth of the situation, but there are a lot of people out there who do not.

Of course. Just like Sankey said he would follow what ever court order comes down. Neither side is willing to go to jail for this issue but that doesn't mean either side is just giving up in the middle of the fight. Lane is doing no different than any other coach in the country. He is just the only one willing to talk about it while it's going on.

An L? We didn't even think this was possible a few weeks ago.

Lane saying we'll comply with the rules and then doing so would make all these media types look like babies.

Good job by CLK. Just speaking the truth.

The media has KDS and casual sports fans lap it up.
