Thank you, exactly. Socal or Tennessee? In theory usc should be an easy place to recruit and win.

I wish LSU would hire a coach with less baggage. Kelly was not a good fit, but we have to have doubts that Kiffin is the answer. Out of all the coaches we hired him.
We hired Saban and Miles away from programs and they had much less baggage and won national championships.
pretty much wrong on all this
now Kiff is being a fricking douche bag over the whole nfl players thing and its a big distraction but whatever, annoys the frick out of me. some one should slap the frick out of him over it but whatever

Nick had the exact same number of jobs Pre-LSU as Lane has had.

and won national championships
Saban and Miles have combined to win zero National Championships as head coaches prior to being hired by LSU.

^^^ found the guy that will argue that LSU should have hired Napier or Sumrall.

If you actually did your research behind each one of these stops and what happened it would not be an issue for you…

Neither had won a title before getting to LSU
Saban and LSU made each other
LSU fully made Miles

This is really a poor take.
He didn't just leave Tennessee haphazardly. He left for what was seen as a better job at the time in USC. USC had been one of the best programs in the country in the 7-8 years before Lane took that job. During that same time period Tenn. was seen as an underachieving program on the decline.
He didn't choose to leave USC. He was fired. Now, you could argue he under achieved there relative to the success of the program when he arrived. But he was also navigating the sanctions (when sanctions actually meant something) Carroll left behind.
He left FAU for Ole Miss. I think most would find it reasonable for a coach to leave a low-tier D-1 school for an SEC school.
As for the Raiders, him being a fired coach is not exactly some anomaly. That franchise has been one of, if not the most dysfunctional franchise in the NFL for 20 years. They've fired numerous coaches besides Lane.
I'm not quite sure what "baggage" he brings? He's either been fired or left jobs for what everyone (at the time) perceived to be a better opportunity

I’m starting to feel this way even tho I was a Kiffin guy. I wanted him 5 years ago. Bit this shite is retarded

The only problem I have with Kiffin is that if - I should say "when"- he wins a Natty, he will bolt to the NFL.
IMO, he's not one that will stay at a program to win multiple championships. Once he wins a college championship, he'll more than likely try to win one in the NFL.

yea it was a terrible take by the OP
i hate the whole nfl player thing because its a bad look for the university and a distraction for mediocre players but the whole "baggage" thing is dumb AF.
Kiff was 100% the right hire

Well go support Tulane if that is what you hypocrites feel.

(USC OC --> Raiders HC) - Everyone on the planet would make that jump.
Fired from the Raiders after 4 games into his 2nd season with a horrible roster & butting heads with an overstepping owner.
Takes the Tennessee job and goes 7-6 in year 1.
(Tennessee HC --> USC HC) - Pete Carroll leaves for the NFL & the HC position opens up at a spot where he was an assistant for 6 seasons. Don't blame him at all for taking that job.
Fired 5 games into his 4th season at USC, the first 2 seasons he spent dealing with a postseason ban.
Takes the Alabama OC & QB job, coaches for 3 seasons under Saban before taking the FAU job to get back in as a HC somewhere.
(FAU HC --> Ole Miss HC) - This is another no brainer upgrade for Kiffin.
(Ole Miss HC --> LSU HC) - “I was torn. And when I called Coach Saban and talked it through with him, he said, you know, Lane, you'll always regret if you don't go to LSU. It's the best job in America.”
Lets not act like most of these changes weren't either clear promotions or being fired from somewhere. Plus he was young for the USC-->Raiders-->Tennessee-->USC era and has clearly matured a lot and learned a ton under Saban in his few years in Tuscaloosa.

When someone brings up his stint with the Raiders as some proof why Kiffin today has issues, I immediately discredit their opinion.

For the rest of The SEC . . . absolutely. He's about to embark on an historic run through this league and they are scared $hitless. That's why they're going public with all these threats while scheming how they're gonna grab their piece when the dust settles. Chicken$hit a$$holes . . . the whole bunch of them. The only one not speaking out of both sides of his mouth on this is Lane. Good for him and good for LSU. A coach with some fkn balls is a nice change.

Congrats! Did you just set the all-time record with 700+ downvotes on a post? Not sure your post was the worst post of all time but definitely at least deserves honorable mention.
