Hope the best for him. I really thought he was going to develop on the power side more than he has. I was banging the drum for him to come back this last season & although his numbers were down, he would've still been able to contribute a lot on LSU this year with the injuries and cold streaks the endured.

re: 2026 Batting Lineup

Posted by Gmichels on 6/12/26 at 3:00 pm to
As of today, my batting order vs RHP would be,

1. Mason Braun - LF - L
2. Omar Serna - C/DH - R
3. Bino Watters - RF - L
4. Cade Arrambide - C/DH - R
5. Steven Milam - SS - L
6. Cade Kurland - 2B - R
7. Will Adams (If he makes it through the draft) - 1B - L
8. Dawson Parks - 3B - R
9. Malachi Washington (If he makes it through the draft) - CF - R

& my batting order vs LHP would be,

1. Mason Braun - LF - L
2. Omar Serna - C/DH - R
3. Bino Watters - RF - L
4. Cade Arrambide - C/DH - R
5. Steven Milam - SS - R
6. John Pearson - 1B - R
7. Cade Kurland - 2B - R
8. Dawson Parks - 3B - R
9. Malachi Washington (If he makes it through the draft) - CF - R

Obviously hoping for the best with Adams, Washington, & Santarelli in the draft as they seem to be in that 50/50 college or pro tier. I will not be surprised to see Braun play a lot more 1st if Adams is drafted and signs. Could very well be a situation where he starts at 1st against RHP and in a corner outfield spot against LHP similar to Tre Morgan in 23 when we were fishing to find a way to get as many bats in the lineup as possible. Also going tohave Ruckert & Patrick in the mix but going to have to hit and embrace their role to find AB's.
I would love to pick up Curland, numbers dropped off after injury but get him back and healthy and he's a 280-300 average/15 HR guy in the middle infield.

No kidding, God forbid a kid wants to win.

re: Just landed hood from gonzaga.

Looks to be a Griffin Herring type long inning reliever. 54 innings in 16 outings but only 4 starts. Seemed to have averaged a little over 3 innings an outing. With Evans, Schmidt, & Moore all back. I wouldn't be surprised if Hood becomes your "Casan go put up 5 or 6 innings and Hood go put up 3 or 4 to finish it so we can have a fresh bullpen for the remainder of the weekend." guy.

Regardless, love the pick up. DUDE THROWS STRIKES
That makes sense, I knew he was catching for the Puerto Rican national team in the WBC so he got to work with a lot of big leaguers. I'm sure that experience alone helped him progress in that aspect of his game.
For sure, Christian still has a ton of potential. His college career might not have lived up to the lofty expectations that were shown early, but he can absolutely carve out a path in the pros. Ready to see him get bumped up to the next step.
For sure, it's hard to find arm talent like that in the 9th round of the draft. He can prove to be a steal if he starts commanding the zone. Love the trajectory he's on.
2025 MLB Draft:

Kade Anderson - 1st Round - Mariners - AA - 1.43 ERA through 9 starts, will move up the org quickly at this rate.

Chase Shores - 2nd Round - Angels - A+ - Posting similar numbers to last year at LSU, electric stuff but just needs tuned up a bit.

Anthony Eyanson - 3rd Round - Red Sox - AA - Already promoted from A+ to AA, has a combined 1.35 ERA over 8 starts in the minors. Looking like a steal in the 3rd.

Ethan Frey - 3rd Round - Astros - A+ - Promoted to A+ after hitting over .300 last year at A. Looking very good, contact numbers are still there and power numbers are staying steady in the transition to the minors as well.

Daniel Dickinson - 6th Round - Brewers - A+ - Getting off to a slow start at A+ but is coming off of an injury that he played through last year & I believe he had surgery to take care of in the offseason. Power numbers haven't developed but he's a gamer.

Jared Jones - 8th Round - Pirates - A+ - Mashing the ball right now in A+ ball, hitting .322 with 7 bear bombs. Happy for him and hope he keeps it up.

Jacob Mayers - 9th Round - Red Sox - A - Throwing up a 2.16 ERA at the moment through 8 appearances but needs to work on the walks still. 31K/21BB through 25 Innings thus far. He can be a legit arm if the command comes, and it looks to be trending.

Kade Woods - 10th Round - Braves - A - After putting up 6 good outings at the end of last season, he has given up 8 runs in 5.2 innings to start this year and helped inflate his numbers. Hoping he can come back around.

Conner Ware - 15th Round - Mets - A - Similar to Shores, current stat line almost mirrors last year's production at LSU perfectly. Does seem to be getting put out there as a starter quite a bit, curious to see how he develops.

Luis Hernandez - UDFA - Twins - AAA - Has been at the A+ level for the 2026 season and just saw yesterday he was getting promoted to AAA, I'm under the impression that this is a move because they need catching at the AAA level for injuries or something because he is only batting .100 this season. Hope he can show them something they like.

Michael Braswell - UDFA - Royals - RK - Getting back into the flow of things as a pitcher for the Royals, gave up 8 runs in 5.2 innings but 7K/3BB is promising. Rooting for Brazzy!

2024 MLB Draft:

Tommy White - 2nd Round - Athletics - AAA - Hitting .293 with 4 HR's & 38 RBI's through 48 games at AA & AAA. Hopefully gets the call to the bigs this year.

Luke Holman - 2nd Round - Reds - A - Been battling injuries ever since he left. Looked good in two outings at A ball last year and is now back on the 60 Day IL. Hopefully can get healthy because he is a crafty pitcher when he's full speed.

Gage Jump - 2nd Round - Athletics - MLB - Just put up 7.0 inning of 3 hit 1 run ball in his 2nd big league start. Great to see him take this opportunity and run with it.

Thatcher Hurd - 3rd Round - Yankees - A - Finally back on the mound after rehabbing a TJ surgery. Glad to see him back in action, pitched great in RK ball this year and is 2 starts in in A. Hopefully he can get healthy and get some confidence back on the mound.

Griffin Herring - 6th Round - Rockies (Traded from Yankees) - AA - Looking really good to start his pro career. Dominated A & A+ ball last year and was included as a prospect in the Ryan McMahon trade last year. Up at AA now for the rockies. Hopefully keeps progressing like he has been!

Fidel Ulloa - 7th Round - Rockies - AA - Now teammates with Griffin Herring, also dominated RK, A, & A+ ball and now showing to be one of the best arms for the Rockies at the AA level. Lost the mustache but clearly pitching like a legit prospect.

Nate Ackenhausen - 10th Round - Royals - AA - On the 60 Day IL right now and hopefully coming back soon and keeping up what he was doing last year. In 2025, got promoted from A+ to AA, continued to pitch well and ended the season with 5 appearances in AAA. Very Quick career jump for a guy like Ackenhausen but up a 3.00 ERA in AAA last year. Hopefully gets health and keeps progressing.

Christian Little - 11th Round - Mariners - A+ - Pitching lights out right now to start the 26 season, holding a 0.86 ERA over 15 outings and 21.0 innings. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in AA soon at this rate.

Justin Loer - 13th Round - Rockies - A+ - Putting up similar numbers to his season at LSU through 2 years in the minors. Currently posting a 4.97 ERA at A+.

Javen Coleman - UDFA - Blue Jays - AA - Currently on 7 Day IL, pitched really well at the A & A+ level last season, looks to have only had a few outings before injury this year. Hopefully back soon and keeps slinging it.

If this interested anyone, I can go back further as well. It's fun to me to watch these guys carve out their paths in the minors. Geaux Tigers!

I mean I've watched every game of each of these guys' LSU career so I just call it how I see it, nor am I going to bash a college kid. I wish them all well, just wish it would've been with the Tigers but you can't just return everyone from a bad team and expect them to magically all take a huge jump.

You've got a great core group of Arrambide, Serna, & Braun at bat & Evans, Schmidt, & Moore on the mound. Filter some of the rest out and bring in some guys that want to compete and see what we can do next year.

I don't disagree, he was very much a "lefty on lefty" guy but it felt off to me that he only got his number called four times a year after he got it called 22 times. It would have been one thing if the bullpen was just lights out this year and there was nowhere to put him, but quite the opposite. Just an observation.

Rizy: Wish it would've worked out but didn't take the step the staff expected out of him after a promising freshman season. You could tell towards the end of conference play and the SEC tournament that the staff lost trust in him finding the zone consistently.

Caraway: I remember that after like 2 weeks of the season, Trent Caraway had 2 HR & 15 RBI's and thinking to myself, dang this could be a solid bottom of the lineup hitter. He then finished with 2 HR & 16 RBI's, clearly wasn't the case. Don't think we saw him almost the entire last month of the year after he didn't slide at second and got in Jay's dog house.

Harden: Clearly a very athletic dude, very capable but think he needed more non con AB's and by the time there were injuries and Harden was getting a chance, it was against top notch pitching and he was clearly not very confident at the plate.

Noot: Kind of a bizarre one here. TJ Surgery in 23 & missed the season, 1 inning in 24 while still recovering from TJ, 32.2 Innings of 4.13 ERA/1.33 WHIP in 25 with the 6th most innings on a national championship team, even had an outing in Omaha, then have 3 of the dudes with more innings than you graduate, and come back for year four and finish with 9.1 innings (16th on the team). I know he didn't look great but so did other pitchers and it never felt like Noot got the chance to work out of it like some of the other guys on the staff got. Kind of a weird situation here, maybe was dealing with some lingering injuries or mechanic stuff but very rarely see a guy that was one of your most used arms on a natty team come back and be absolutely irrelevant on a bad team.

Primeaux: In a similar fashion to Noot, saw his appearances drop off a cliff from a great team to a bad team. Redshirted in 23, threw 3.2 innings in 9 appearances as a situational lefty in 24, threw 14.0 innings of 3.86 ERA/1.36 WHIP in 25 with the 3rd most appearances on the team (22), to come back and throw 2.1 innings on 4 appearances. Again, didn't look great this year but looked no worse than the other guys that we let work through the early issues. Meanwhile DJ had his role turn into nothing.

We shall see who else ends up leaving, surely there will be more. Can't say I'm too surprised about any of these ones.

re: 7 and 18 predictions

Posted by Gmichels on 5/28/26 at 1:21 pm to
I am honestly a fan of giving an 18 to someone on both sides of the ball like they did with Greg Penn & Josh Williams. This year I'd go Treydez for 7, Whit Weeks 18 on D, & Bo Bordelon wearing an 18 patch like Lloyd Cushenberry did on the o-line. Give a little credit to Bo for sticking it out through 4 years of special teams & tight end reps and now possibly getting a starting nod as a redshirt senior.
Sorry for your loss, lost mine in 2024. It's comforting to know they are where we are all trying to end up, and being down here until we see them again will fly by compared to eternal salvation.
My thought exactly, White ended up being a well above average college third baseman in 24.
Blaker is DC
Kiffin is Co-DC.

Same thing on the offense. Weis is OC, Joe Cox is Co-OC.

It is a title and more to say that Baker is in charge of defense as a whole and if he were to get a HC job elsewhere, Kiffin is next man up & I'm sure also paid accordingly. Baker wouldn't have come back if this had anything to do with control of the D. This is not anything out of the ordinary and shouldn't be looked into to deeply.

re: Carius Curne to the portal

Posted by Gmichels on 12/17/25 at 1:08 pm to
Don't really understand that unless he was just wanting a guaranteed starting spot that can't be offered. I'm sure the staff has let it be known they are hitting the portal and the best man will win. Plus, if I'm being completely honest, I think he is a better fit at guard but understand that tackle is wear dudes make their money.
The goal is to have 25 mil NIL +14 Mil Rev Share. On top of that, NIL is changing where it is brand centric and more legitimate ad deals, not we have a big donor and are going to write you a blank check. I think the hope is that with some of this stuff, LSU has already been working to get these deals and that some of those "Big Donor Schools" will drop off dramatically when a billionaire can no longer just pay a guy a million to come sit the bench as a freshman and add no value to the team.
For sure, just hate that they wasted an all time year from him.
Don't blame Delane at all, Haulcy & Perk should do the same honestly. Nuss is still banged up and owes LSU nothing. I hope Whit is coming back but either way, he has been banged up and has no reason to play in the bowl game and end up hurt again like last year.

I don't care about them in the bowl game but I feel like focus needs to be on getting Whit, Braelin Moore, Aaron Anderson, & Tamarcus Cooley to stay out of the draft.
