Is Jayden Daniels the BEST QB LSU has ever had? Yes…even better than Joey B?

No one can argue that Burrow had the best individual season by a QB in the history of CFB.

But…You look at JD5s stats vs all the other recent heisman winning QBs, including JB9, and he is better on YPG and better (albeit by .1) on pass eff.

JB9 also DEFINITELY had a much better team around him. That 2019 team won almost every individual and team award there was to win…way better Oline, running back, and defense and more weapons on offense (vs just Nabers Thomas) and 14 players drafted from that team.

Combo of passing AND running ability, we have to give the edge to JD5.

All things considered I think a legitimate case can be made that JD5 is the best QB we have seen at LSU…including my man Joey B.

Before the argument gets too heated …I also think we are fortunate to see such talent close together…it may be a long time before we see a combo of JB9 so soon followed by JD5. Sit back and enjoy/appreciate it.

No he's not. But he is much better and much closer to Joey B than I ever expected he would be.

Hell I'll say it, he is in my opinion. Burrow was a little better at pre snap reads but it is JD's legs that set him apart from every other QB I've ever seen. He is literally the perfect combination of Joe Burrow and Cam Newton.

Hopefully the recent success helps with recruitment of future QBs and hopefully more great dual threat types that give the opposing defenses nightmares.

I think he's the most talented. Would be insane to see what JD could do with all those 2019 weapons

This is so dumb - it’s like saying Jalen Hurts is better than Tom Brady bc he’s more of a dual threat.

Except cam newton was a boulder to tackle. Not the best comparison but I get what you mean.

He's a better athlete than Joe. But Joe was built different.

2023 has a significantly better oline than 2019.

It’s the new talking point. Burrow getting the ball to all those players is now being used to diminish him.

No, he's not. You have to take into consideration the caliber of the competition Burrow had to face. We beat some very good teams in 2019.

He still isn't half the passer that Joey B. was. He is still behind on passes and slow in his progressions. This is a big part of why he runs so much; He does not spot the open guy. Burrow could work through his progressions with perfect timing.

No need to rank order. They both are heisman caliber qb’s. JD5 on 2019 wins a natty. BD9 is 8-3 going into the last week

I have so enjoyed watching JD5 but I have to say I agree about him missing reads or slower to read than JB9.

JB9 was known as a Stone cold killer because if a receiver was open he hit em.

Joe Burrow was the single most dangerous college qb I've ever seen. JD5 is great and he deserves the Heisman, but I'll need to see a qb throw for 6k yards and 60 TDs before I call him better than #9.

I’d be willing to bet there’s better NFL talent on this year’s OL than the 2019.
