Nobody is saying they’re a top 5 team or anything. But they are definitely not bottom tier SEC. And seemingly not mid either. They had a top 10 portal class and their coach is legit. They should not be underestimated.

KY is last in SEC converting 3rd down. They are also last in the SEC in opponents 3rd down conversion. They are an opportunistic D. Limit TO and we win by 2 TD’s.

Alabama was down at the half to Kentucky. Are they also average or do 2nd half’s count now?

Being down and being down 17 are two different things. Beating them 45-17 as opposed to winning by two point conversion in overtime are totally different as well. You absolute cuck.

Kentucky is a gritty team. They are good, well coached team. Are we better? Yes but we will need to play a good game. Arkansas is the only team in the SEC that is a mess this year. Even South Carolina for all their faults is still a dangerous team.

I don't know why this board has to piss on every opponent.

I haven't visited here much, and I believe my posts here this week have been respectful and just trying to talk about this game and I'm getting crapped on by people saying we are a "terrible football team", etc.

No one says we are a top 5 team, but new young innovative head coach, and 4-1 start with 2 road SEC wins. Well, I'll take it.

Let’s just hope the team respects Kentuckies FB team more than the fans.If they don’t there will be a lot of miserable fans after this game.Do fans watch college FB every week,if they did they wouldn’t be so confident.

Im not saying they are awful. Im just saying they are way too quick to crown them when they are one play away from a horrendous loss

Who is “crowning” them and what are the “crowning” them? I mean hell, they literally dropped out of the top 25 this past week. This is just another example of people like you making up narratives in your own mind.

It's the rant dude. If we are not beating our opponents by at least two touchdowns they will piss on their own team.

The degree of "hype" generally correlates with preconceived expectations. Kentucky and Stein are getting a lot of compliments largely because the preseason expectations were low. They were picked to finish 14th in the SEC. Few, if any, expected them to be 4-1 at this point in the season. Yet, here they are with two SEC road wins against what were expected to be better teams. I don't think anyone will argue that winning on the road in the SEC is tough. Particularly LUS fans given LSU currently has the longest streak of SEC road losses in the league.

The OP, like many LSU fans, see anything they can conceive as slightly negative of LSU or positive about an LSU opponent, and overblow it to a hyperbolic level to form the basis for outrage or the perpetual claims of "lack of respet"..despite the fact LSU has been one of the most respected programs over the last two decades.

Kentucky and Stein are having a good first year thus far relative to the general expectation level of Kentucky football. It's ok to acknowledge that.

Why is every sports media show hyping the weaker team in a primetime matchup? There has to be a reason; what could it be?

Genuinely curious, who all is hyping up Kentucky? I haven’t seen much of that, but I also haven’t watched any sports talk television this week.

ESPN and the SEC Network (so ESPN again), and I think it is mostly Stein vs. Kentucky itself. And the team looks better under Stein than it has in the last couple of years, though that is a lowish bar.

Not sure this bothers the OP, TBH.

Using objective STATS. LSU has the better rushing offense, the better rushing defense, the better passing offense, and the better passing defense, better 3rd down conversions, more points per game, less points per game given up. The ONLY area where Kentucky comes out ahead is turnovers +5 where LSU is dead even. The fastest doesn't always win the race, but that is the way to bet. LSU 31 Kentucky 20

dropped out of the AP poll after the win

So we won't get credit for beating a ranked team. Shenanigans.
