re: The 154th Open Championship

Keep in mind this will be gotterup’s 7th event in 7 weeks I believe. That’s a lot of wear and tear between traveling, practice rounds, 72 holes, etc.
He’s not even the best striker currently on tour. He is very good, but not the best.

Played several times, never used a caddy.

But just for future reference minimum of $50 per bag is what the caddy tip rate typically is.

It’s good practice, you’ll get looks from yardages that you typically wouldn’t from your normal tees.

I’ve had driving across leave guys at the border that they wouldn’t let across. Mostly DUIs. But I’ve had a couple other offenders not make it in.

Probably the last opportunity in duck hunting where you can get 100+ Mallards to decoy right into the spread. Also, having huge groups of Canada Geese and Specks work to a call and not be super spooky.

Can 100% still do this in the Midwest, dakotas, hell even some parts of Texas.

With that being said Canada is still something very special, but don’t be fooled to think it’s a guaranteed double limit everytime. It’s definitely a trip a hardcore waterfowler should experience atleast once.

I’ve guided in Canada for decades and it seems as if late they’re making it harder and harder for non residents to come in. Fortunately we own a lot of the land we hunt so we don’t have too many access issues that some guys are running into, but it’s getting bad.

I think this year may be my last up there, but I’ve been saying that every year since Covid.

At my best I was around +3.5 currently I’m .7.

Lot’s of good practice. Go to the range with a plan, aimlessly beating balls does nothing but relieve stress.

Swing you swing and know your miss.

When you get in trouble, take the best path to safely advance the ball. Low percentage hero shots do nothing but add strokes.

Find your “money” distance for approach shots and when you lay up play to that number. So if you know you’re great from say 70 yards and know you can’t get to the green from your current position, play to have that 70 yard approach shot.

Limit 3 putts. Learn to lag. On long putts, don’t try to make the putt, try to get it within a 3 foot circle around the cup, making the putt is a bonus, shouldn’t be the goal.

Develop a fairway finder for tight fairway holes. Short and in the fairway is better than long and in the trees, hazards, etc

Could go on and on, but these tips are critical.
She gonna ask to speak with gutfeld’s manager?
Absolute terrible terrible approach.

On a hole that only had a handful or less of birdies today, he decides to go pin hunting instead of getting on and two putting for par to go to a playoff. No reason at all to do that with how the pin placement played today.
So you don’t like blacks or fats?

How do you feel about the Jews?
Chamber sealer is the way to go. I have one that operates with an oil pump. I’ve had mine for 10 years and it gets used multiple times daily from sept-March and multiple times per week for the rest of the year. It’s a significantly better than the suction style. Higher initial investment, but they operate better and the bags are much less expensive.

ETA: the frickers are heavy, so you need to find a designated space for it if you go that route. Mine stays in the shop at the lodge during hunting season and in my shop at the house outside of hunting season.

Are you going to act like LSU fans wouldn’t do something similar?

I had a counter balanced 38” started out loving it, once the honey moon phase was over. I hated it.

Traded it for a lab oz with the insert. Much much better for me. ZT is a different animal though. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, they’re incredible, I can’t start a putt off line if I tried.
2 thugs from a team littered with thugs not getting along, what a shocker.

It’s how LSU fans cope with less than stellar performances by former players in the pro ranks. Prime example is Sam burns, which we haven’t gotten our weekly thread about him yet.

The south course 100% can be setup to play extremely tough.
What about adult golfers that vandalize country club locker rooms?

Or improve their lies in a major tournament?

Or refer to wine as “grape”?

I don’t care for the heckling, but if there is anyone who deserves it, it’s Wyndham Clark.

and was a roll or 2 from a playoff or maybe an outright win.

Exactly. The roll or 2 that continuously doesn’t hole on Sundays. I swear it’s like some of you bbq with Sam burns family the way yall take criticism of the young man personally.
100%

Both things can be true.

Is he an exceptional golfer? - absolutely

Does he have trouble closing out tournaments? - absolutely

He missed quite a few very makable putts both yesterday and today that had he sunk half of them he probably wins with how Clark came back today.

He continuously battles and finds himself in the top 10 to top 5s in tournaments but he just can’t get over the hump in signature events or majors. It’s not a personal attack on the young man, it just is what it is.

re: Takomo players irons….

He would benefit from a fitting.

Most places if you give them a budget they’ll stay within it or you can take his data and send it to takomo and they’ll build him set. I would def get him fit. Just so many different variables than shaft flex.

Shaft length, lies, grips, etc.
