it will never happen

Tell the SEC to frick off.
Just reform a "New and Improved" Southwest Conference.
LSU, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and all the Texas schools.

I mean the games that I liked most are gone anyway

I have loved being in the SEC, it provides a lot of financial perks, and I dislike the thought of not being in it, but we'd probably be more relevant that ever. Everyone would be tuning in to see what LSU is doing, etc. LSU's expectations to win championships would not diminish and athletes wanting to attend LSU would not diminish. LSU is a huge brand with a ton of tradition.
Sadly, conferences as they were barely exist now. You basically have the Big 10 and the SEC in football and those conferences are vastly different now. Texas and OU are historic programs, but it feels weird having them in the SEC. And many rival teams will not be playing each other nearly as much as they used to due to the conference being too big. With players constantly switching teams too now, the conferences and rivalries are seriously watered down now.

frick’em let’s go to the Big 12 and rule that conference in all sports…

Just fine the CFP would have to give us the same stipulation to make the playoff as ND and we could cherry pick our schedule and make the playoff every year

Never say that in this day and age of college sports…

SEC hasn’t won a natty in almost 3 years. Meh

If they want to treat one of their largest brands this way, then I’m sure another conference would be happy to take us. One of the best stadium experiences and largest social media followings. Combine that with Lane Train media personality and his prolific offense and that’s why we have so much leverage right now. We will continue to get eye balls and clicks and attention and in this economy that’s all that matters.

I never said I want LSU to leave the conference, I asked what if we were forced to leave...

Overall I'd be sad. It would be weird as frick to not be in the SEC, but LSU would survive.
This x 1000. But at a certain point a bridge has to be burned with the SEC suing you....completely insane.

I hate the SEC and have for many years.
BUT, that $75 million a year (and growing) media payout keeps our whole operation afloat. We cannot afford to be Independent since no one is gonna give us that much standing alone. And the only place we could go is to the Big10 because the ACC and Big12 payouts are waaaaaaay less than the big 2 payouts.

It will never happen. It would be bad for both sides. It is sad anyone thinks this is possible and gives it any attention.

I don't want to leave the SEC.

Right because there are no relevant programs outside the SEC.

Member that scene where Andy Dufresne crawls through a river of shite and came out clean on the other side?
I'd feel like that.
I'd feel like that.
