If LSU were to leave or be expelled from the SEC because of a couple of backup one year rentals it would an extremely stupid move by all parties involved.

Right because there are no relevant programs outside the SEC.
We won't be joining the B1G, and we would not survive independently.
Yes, we would slide slowly into irrelevance in the Big 12.

College football as we loved it is gone. It’s a frog in a blender now.
I’ll appreciate leaving for the theatre is will be.
NIL was the beginning of the end.

At this point I would welcome it.
It is clear that Sankey has a personal vendetta against LSU and Lane.
And it is clear that there is a clear double standard and selective enforcement of rules by the SEC.
So as much I have loved being a member, it is clear we will not be treated fairly by the Conference so we should move on.
LSU is a money making brand, so when all is said and done the SEC will regret this

I would feel great, actually.
Frick this crooked conference. Tired of the favoritism and blatantly rigged games.
Our brand can survive anything.

Other then the money we might lose(and who knows it may not end up being that much) I would be ecstatic, this conference has been screwing us over for yrs

CFB sucks anyway. I think it’s going to be dramatically different soon anyway and us leaving may be one of the first dominos.

U can't be that stupid. What about the other sports? U think the baseball team would survive? U think Jay would still coach here? Fu kin retards

It would suck, honestly. It's the best in baseball and football, and basketball is turning into a power as well.

Not at anywhere near the level it’s currently at. And not for very long. Some of y’all are just not thinking this through at all. Our operating budget would skyrocket for all the travel we’d be doing. In all sports. Our tv/media revenue would plummet. Our home game revenue would plummet because we’d be replacing , Bama, Texas, OU, Ole Miss, Georgia, etc…with Bowling Green, Western Kentucky, and Miami of Ohio. Any P4 teams still willing to play us would only do home and homes, so good luck scheduling 8 home games where 6 aren’t atrocious. Our donations would dry up significantly. As would recruiting. We wouldn’t have as much money to pay them, but also couldn’t use playing against the best of the best every week. 102,000 screaming fanatics on Saturday nights in Death Valley. More like 60,000, with half leaving at halftime.
You like having the best coaches who come here to compete at the highest level? That’d be over. And on and on and on. LSU’s brand—as strong as it is—could not exist even remotely in the same stratosphere as it does currently. People would throw some money at it for a couple of years to try to hang on, but that wouldn’t be sustainable. It would be the end of LSU athletics, and Louisiana State University as we know it. Anybody even entertaining this is not a serious person.

It would severely erode the SEC in this scenario.

Tulane left the SEC and look at their home schedule. Horrible teams to go see in person. No wonder they get 10000 per game. Who the hell wants to see Memphis and south alabama and Houston and east Carolina ?

After watching the SEC for 5 decades, I would say AMF.

Y’all are so dramatic. They would never do this especially after we set a viewership record for LSU/Clemson on Saturday
Honestly, I think some of this is absolutely to get ratings.

LSU could go independent and sign a massive TV deal with CBS. Much like Notre Dame has a deal with NBC.
LSU with Lane Kiffin would be must-see TV every week. Long term it probably hurts, but tight now, LSU football is the biggest name in the sport.

Turns out, it didn't "Just mean more."

If ND can make it as an independent, LSU can do better. There is no other school in the country that has fan support more than us.
Fan support is what has made LSU sports self sustaining.

LSU's revenues would drop substantially if that happened. SEC revenue sharing, especially from TV contracts, is a substantial part of our athletic revenue.
