re: I would like to see Scott do something about the food at the games...

I understand the “eat before or after the game” argument but stuff happens and I have young teens that love to hit up the concession stands during a game. The stuff should be better. Period. It’s shameful how terrible our concessions are .

If you know in advance that you don't like the food at the stadium eat you a ham sammich' before you go. When you get to the stadium wash it down with some ice cold beer.

It’s Baton Rouge. There are so many better places to spend your money on food, before the game. At football games, there’s all the free food in the world, and good arse food to buy, outside the stadium all day leading up to a game
The fact that many people cook at a tailgate / eat before they get to the game does not excuse the crappy in-stadium food and beverage experience.

This makes the most sense.

This thread always confuses me
I like to drink beer and eat food at tailgates throughout the day. I also like to drink beer and eat food at and during football games. I also like my $12 cheeseburger to be hot. Why is this so confusing?

As long as I can remember, LSU sports venues have had poor quality food. The posters telling everyone to eat BEFORE/AFTER games at BR establishments are spot on.
Might be reasonable on a weekend. But weekday games after work, not so much.

Man we went to the bowl game at NRG and their concessions were legit. The variety and quality was way better. I also would like to see Scott do something about that

Yeah nothing will mess your day or night up like some stale tortilla chips in your nachos and they have managed to do that before to me.I eat before the game at the tailgate but it sure is nice in the 2nd half to get some really nice and warm chili and cheese nachos yet they seem to F that up

They were out of hotdogs with 15 minutes to go in second half. So had to settle for a cold bland school cafeteria hamburger.
The concessions really are terrible

This is SUCH a terrible cop out.. Because there are other options BEFORE and AFTER we should just be okay with it being dog shite... I'm sorry.. I'm a grown man who's going into a game sometimes very drunk.. and this game sometimes lasts 4 hours. IDC how much I eat before if I'm drunk and sitting in the sun I'm going to get hungry. And very thirsty. And hell they can't even get the drinks right. Running out of ice. Running out of water. It's truly pathetic and the fact that we are paying for this garbage is pathetic.

The best food at the games is in the parking lots

We sell a lot of Coca-Cola products at LSU events right? They need to be using our players name, image, and likeness, to advertise their Coke products then.

I feel like it would be cheaper to hire cooks to make massive amounts amounts of jambalaya and gumbo.

Sysco Food is a supplier of quality food products and also can fill orders with low end food. Not the food supplier but the company or person ordering the food.
Acknowledge the food can be ordered low end and prepared poorly along with poor service. Not the supplier

It's the contract with Aramark that is the problem.
Lots of schools sign deals with concession providers because it's basically a turnkey operation.
But if LSU was really concerned about its 100,000 fans on Saturdays, it would make sure that the Aramark contract is not exclusive and LSU is allowed to provide options.
Options like, say, Chick-Fil-A. Or better still, a Raising Cane's concession in each end of the stadium.
(The new Atlanta stadium has an amazing Chick-Fil-A setup, where your order is ready almost instantly, plus they have dozens of Coca-Cola refill stations all over the stadium. You buy your original cup and just use the cup to refill (for free) anytime you want.) Of course, this was pre-Covid...but it's Georgia, so what do they care?
Sure, ideally, we'd all eat before or after an LSU game, but have you ever tried that on a game day Saturday? You're in for an extremely long wait, at best.
Scott Woodward just needs to know that its paying customers are unhappy with the quality of the Aramark food AND he needs to look into adding local options. There's no reason Cane's can't do what Chick-Fil-A does (and just as efficiently) at the Atlanta dome.
