I know this dead horse has been beaten for weeks, but still. I've typically been one of those "tradition" guys myself for as long as I can remember, but I'm not really bothered by these alternate unis we've been wearing. The main reason is that structurally the uniform design is intact, just with different color combos (with our ACTUAL colors, mind you). To me, a line is crossed when you start doing dumb shite like wearing camo helmets or having tiger stripes all over the jersey or something like that. For example, I think the ones we wore in 2018 with the chrome purple helmets were a bit obnoxious and I would be glad to never see those again. Like most people, I hate Oregon's uniforms with the duck feathers everywhere and the chrome helmets and whatnot. But to be honest, I think all of our alternates have looked really good. From a pure aesthetics standpoint, I think the white/purple/white (like we are wearing this weekend) is our best looking combo.

When you wear alts more at home than not, you don’t really have a uniform.

I don't understand why people get so mad when we don't wear the traditional uniforms. It would be one thing if they were wearing something that wasn't even the school colors.

I think the white purple white combo is the best looking combo they wear so why be mad about it for the sake of tradition. Especially if the players like it then who cares.

Wasn't the decision on what last home uniforms to be worn left up to the senior captains? If so, I don't care if they are pink and purple. They have earned the right to choose what to play in their last home game.

Agreed. It is the same uniform. Diff color combos. No different than basketball or baseball.

Also, just personal opinion here. The purple jerseys look much better with white combo than with the gold combo. I have never been a fan of our purple/gold combo. Maybe it just reminds me too much of the losing ways of the 80s and 90s.

I don't have a issue with the alternates. But like others have stated. LSU football has a iconic look. One of the most recognizable uniforms in not just college football but in all of American sports. LSU is famous for white jerseys at home. I am fine with what they will wear Saturday night, I think it looks great. But we should never be wearing anything but the traditional Gold, white Gold at home for a big SEC game. Oklahoma's first trip to Death Valley qualifies as that. Also as others have said when you have worn alternates more at home than the traditional unis in a season I think you are fricking with LSU tradition and it needs to stop. Alternates should be worn only in non SEC games.

Earned the right? What about the decades of those who built this tradition? frick off with the alternates at home. Do it on the road all you want.

Individual players ARE NOT bigger than the Brand of the Program!

The iconic LSU BRAND is being flushed down the toilet and a lot of people are PO'ed.

ONE Alternate per year in an OOC game and then get that shite off the field!

So you, who I presume has never played a snap of football for LSU, have more of a right to choose the uniforms than senior captains? Makes perfect sense

Florida truly crossed the proverbial rubicon back in 2017 with their repulsive swamp gator simulation unis in 2017, vs the Aggies. That was truly dumb shite. They fired their coach, Jim McElwain soon afterwards

It seems like right around the time LSU started getting into this gay arse uniform shite is when they lost their identity as being tough.

Anyone else notice?

I like the purple jersey and white pants, LSU in purple at home is just as much a tradition to me from my childhood as wearing white jerseys at home is now

I wish they would wear the gold helmets with the purple jerseys, the white helmets are ok but not a sharp as the gold helmets

The seniors should get to wear whatever they want, it is senior day after all

Start a new tradition. They weren't bringing in 100 million a year 30 years ago. Lsu has plenty of tradition on gamedays and on display all over the program. To get up in arms over a few different color combinations of uniforms that want to be worn by guys that have given way more to the program than you or I have.

They are only happy when LSU fires a coach...they are even more happy when the fire the Head Coach.

2019 would have been the perfect season if they would have fired Coach O immediately after the victory over Clemson.
