Now look at the mess House created. Losing recruits and star players starting to look elsewhere.

House has destroyed this defense.

I mean, I never liked Kelly, but he inherited an absolute shite squad. That’s just a fact.

The most glaring example is the 2020 signing class - 22 players. 15 transferred out (16 if you include Bradford). Only 2 members of that class were on the roster this season. 2019 class - 25 signers, 13 transferred out.

This is 90% of the issues with our Tigers right here. Those classes constitute our juniors and seniors. The portal can fill holes (and give us special players like Burrow or Daniels), but your better teams have upperclassmen playing.

While House needs to go, CBK has done a phenomenal job with an empty cupboard.

Were you not alive 2 years ago when we had a WR playing QB in a bowl game?

I don't feel like explaining something that was known to everyone and recognize you are but a small, little man trolling this board.

Terrible evaluations in recruiting.

Side pieces and their kids running drills at practice.

Need I go on?

That's the thing about Les Miles. At no point during his tenure was the PROGRAM at risk. Certainly you can make the case that LSU underachieved under Miles. But, we were always in a place where the next coach, if needed, was going to be able to hit the ground running.

What Orgeron did to the program in such a short timeframe was astounding. If his personal problems weren't so public, you'd struggle to explain it.

I think LSU is 2 good recruiting years away from having a full deck to play with. Everyone is focused on the DC, but the talent on defense is bottom of SEC level. We hadn't seen that since before Saban.

It's still unbelievable to me that this happened at LSU.

When I see an ignorant post, I go back and look at your previous posts. You are consistent.

Intelligence is seeking you, but you hide very well!

I’ve never in all my years following LSU, have seen such a depleted roster. Not even close. I’ve looked at every stop Kelly has made. He’s rebuilt a roster from top to bottom.
We had a WR playing QB, let that one sink in!

The ironic thing is all of the spin O/Derek put out about how bad of shape the program was in when he took over, which was always BS, but then he actually did leave it in complete and total shambles.

traditionally, you start with a full roster and just change a few pieces.

39 scholarship players available for a meaningless bowl after the coach was fired mid season and players started transferring and sitting out for the draft. This number also did not include players that were injured and came back the following season.

Great talking point number, but requires context to get the full picture.

Motherflucker, give me a list of HC openings the shrimp boat captain is under consideration for. He did coach the greatest team in college football history just four years ago, right?? I'll wait.

Careful some here can't take positivity and facts. They prefer to fire anyone and everyone. You see they are all undiscovered and unappreciated head coaches.

I posted this on a previous thread

Not surprised when the head coach (Orgeron) DGAF after winning the NC and was fired. Once he achieved the ultimate success and pinnacle of CFB, all he cared about was chasing poontang as it was all over social media. Orgeron and his staff recruited kids that had off the field issues and quit after seeing minimal playing time. LOTS of misses and whiffs. Hard to imagine the coaching staff (Aranda) analyzed Webb, Sampah, and White over Edgerrin Cooper from Covington. The 2020 class was ranked around #4. Here is what is left from kids who should be the team leaders and contributing heavily as RS-Jr's. I don't fault the kids who left after 3 years and were drafted.

Offense
Arik Gilbert - TE .... left after 1 season, major mental issues, transferred to UGA to NEB
Kayshon Boutte - WR ... left after 3 yrs, active with NE Pats
Marcus Dummervil - OL ...transferred to Maryland 2022
Tre Bradford - RB .... transferred to OU back to LSU, 4 carries 1 yard, 1 TD in 2023
Max Johnson - QB ....transferred to A&M
TJ Finley - QB ... transferred to AUB to TX State
Kole Taylor - TE .....transferred to W. VA
Koy Moore - WR .... transferred to AUB
Marlon Martinez - OL ...... still with team in 2023
Xavier Hill - OL ..... transferred to Memphis
Alex Adams - WR ......transferred to Akron

Defense
Elais Ricks - CB ... transferred to ALA, active on PHI roster
Jaqueline Roy - DT ... left after 3 yrs, drafted by MN
Phillip Webb - LB .... transferred to Jackson State
Antoine Sampah - LB ....transferred to Campbell University
Jordan Toles - S ....transferred to Morgan State
Jacobian Guillory - DT ..... currently on team
BJ Ojulari - LB ..... left after 3 yrs, drafted by AZ
Josh White - LB .....transferred to Baylor
Dwight McGlothern - CB ..... left and went to ARK
Eric Taylor - DT ..... left team after 1 year, transferred to Miss ST
Ali Gaye - DE .... left after 3 yrs drafted by HOU

F-FWD to the current 2023 roster ..... of the 22 signed players in 2020, you have 2 remaining on offense (Bradford, Martinez) and 1 left on defense (Guillory). Attrition was brutal which is why LSU has no depth and experienced players. The transfer portal fills roster depth, but it's a hit or miss on how kids perform on the field in the SEC.

Lastly, since the NCAA approved of the TP and NIL, CFB is a whole different animal as we're currently witnessing. Not only do coaches have to recruit kids out of HS, they have to re-recruit these same kids on the roster so they don't leave after 1 year and enter the TP to seek playing time elsewhere.

At one time we had like 15 WR (5 deep) on the roster and 3 DL...My coworker and I would joke about which WR was going to get moved to the Defensive Line.
