39 scholarship players bro.

Terrible evaluations in recruiting.

Side pieces and their kids running drills at practice.

Need I go on?

How many defensive backs that have played in the last two seasons were ever on an Orgeron roster?

How many the defensive linemen were on an Orgeron roster?

Answer, not many. We have had to heavily rely on the transfer portal.

Don't you love that you can ask a simple question and all but one post is just a flame / personal attack?

The fact that we've had to bring in over 10 transfers the past 2 offseasons never told you anything. Then I'm not sure you could comprehend

For DBs, only Ryan I think.

There have been a few DL: Guillory, Savion, BJ, and 1 or 2 more.

DL wasn't totally bad. DB was a bare cupboard.

- extremely low number of scholarship players
- O destroyed a number of HS coaching relationships
- 6-6 isn't really appealing to recruits
- O was hitting on boosters pregnant wives
- threatened to kill a caller on the coaches show...

= all of this equals toxic environment that takes time to right.

The most glaring example is the 2020 signing class - 22 players. 15 transferred out (16 if you include Bradford). Only 2 members of that class were on the roster this season.

2019 class - 25 signers, 13 transferred out.

Position specific - the 2021 class featured only 1 cb who transferred out. That was after the 2020 class featured 2cbs who both transferred out (one being Eli Ricks and the other being McGlothern who Kelly kicked off the team for allegedly being late to meetings)

For the players who remained they had been developing under a revolving door of coordinators and in a chaotic system. Kelly said when he got here he had to teach them how to practice.

Probably bc it’s hard to believe it’s a serious question and not a shill. Anyone who has followed the program knows enough to have an idea.

Again our own fans acting like Kelly hasn’t already won the west and is not on the brink of back to back 10 win seasons despite the mess he inherited

Yes there are holes still and there are areas to improve which we have no reason to believe won’t be addressed.

Despite this Kelly has done an outstanding job.

Go read the damn coaching changes board and you’ve got our own fans knighting for 7-5 coaches “bc he inherited a difficult situation and he needs time” or defending a coach who went 6-7 last year and 5-7 this year despite inheriting a better and full roster

Yet these same people don’t miss an opportunity to shite on Kelly bc we lack depth at certain positions or bc the defense played poorly.

Won the west and 10 games in year 1
Could win 10 again this year in year 2

And still our own people just don’t miss a chance to discredit him while defending coaches like Napier or other newly hired head coaches in the sec who lack the resume of BK and success of BK

TRULY AMAZING

With portals and NIL, nah.

Year three is traditionally considered when the team is all on the new coach though. But I dont think Kelly has done a terrible job here, we only have three losses and it could be worse.

Next year is all on Kelly.

The first two points are valid and by themselves worthy of criticism. But the reports of side pieces at practice were confirmed to be false by multiple players. Not defending O, but I also don’t like perpetuating the spread of fake news

This was an absolutely stunning revelation and should have gotten the attention of every LSU football fan. Kelly came here because he wanted to win a national championship and believed this was the place to do it, but realized when he got here that he had half a roster of players who didn't even have the fundamental ability to practice effectively. It's an incredible indictment of Orgeron and his incompetence and I bet will be a huge factor in his never being a head coach again. And I say that as someone who really wanted to believe that Ed had learned from his experience at Ole Miss, learned from Carroll, etc, and had real potential to be an effective head coach. But boy did he ever frick that up.
