I would think that it has to do with the general atmosphere of the entire football program...academic accountability, to meetings on time, effort at practices in season and off season...I was a GA at an SEC school several years ago and one of my "jobs" was to walk a very, very talented QB to English class...every M-W-F...I deduce, from the play on the field, that Coach O was not a stickler for details...or intention in practice. If you ever get a chance, go watch Bama practice during spring and watch the intensity, the focus, and the leadership that upperclassman HAVE to display going from drill to drill...It seems that Coach Kelly has reinforced accountability...
