I would like one every 10 years.

In this NIL era there will never be another dynasty like Saban had, hell even back to back winners like UGA will probably not happen unless that team wins with a young star QB that they will have for 2-3 years. Indiana is one a done for awhile, Michigan is going to be bad for a couple more years until they can reset at QB, Bama may make a run next year, LSU and Tennessee will likely make a run next year as well. UGA is the closest to having actual depth everywhere and being in the CFP every year in the SEC. It took Kiffin 6 years and some luck at QB at Ole Piss to get then to where they are now.

My point is it is likely there will be a new champion every year. Have patience with CLK. Burger King set us back a couple years.

I just want us to win the games that you’re supposed to and go 10-2 every year at minimum. If you play Texas, Bama, Georgia, you can take those L’s. This year, it was supposed to be Texas or Ole Miss loss and Alabama, for a 10-2 season. Kentucky was not the better team Saturday, Lane was out coached and got in his emotions for not going for it. The defense was getting torched all night but the offense was a full steam engine rolling, but yet you take the game out of the offense and leave it up to your gassed defense that couldn’t stop them in the 1st quarter and you expect them to magically do it in the 4th?

Before the loss to Bama in the NC, I was expecting them every four years on the trajectory we were on.

Now, if we get one every decade, I'll be more than happy.

Had a conversation with a friend...

Would you rather Kiff have one undefeated NC season or win five SEC titles in ten years with a runner up or two?

Its tough, because you can have several elite seasons and not win one.

To answer your question, I'd be fine going .500 this year and winning an NC next year.

The Problem is not winning national championships every year, it’s flaking out in October and early November, virtually negating the rest of the season and making everybody just fricking give up on LSU football. That shite needs to stop and stop very quickly.

If he goes 9-3 this year it doesn't matter what happens next season. 9-3 is acceptable for year 1.

i expect one by the 4th year in the coaches tenure, based on the program's history since 2000

Georgia has been competing for them under Kirby...went many years without competing/ winning one.

Bama had Saban...really can't say they have competed with one since he left.

OSU is an sec team playing in the BIG 10.

With the exception of Bama I wouldn't trade any other program for what they have done this century.

Point is a lot of things need to go your way to win/compete for a title especially when competing against the teams we face in conference.

Bottom line is I never expect one but would like to be in contention (make the playoffs 3 out of every 4 years)

You're asking the wrong question.

It's not how often do you expect them, it's how often are you competitive for them.

Georgia, Alabama, and OSU are competitive for them virtually every year. We are virtually never competitive for them outside of a blue moon year.
Exactly. LSU had a golden age from 2003-2012 where we went 10-2 or better in 7 of 10 seasons with 6 of those 7 seasons being 11 wins or better overall. Three trips to the NCG with 2 wins to boot. Put the NCs aside though. Why do some fans act like we are asking for too much to be competitive year end and year out? If everybody claims this is a top 5 football job (which it is) why is it so damn hard to be relevant to the national stage on a consistent basis?

Take for instance this year. There is no damn way we should have lost either game if the coaches made the right choices in game and during prep time. Players fricking up aside, the coaches made both games way harder than they had to be.

I’m actually more lenient than Verge Ausberry. VA said LSU should be in the playoffs every year. I’ll settle for four out of every five years in a 12 team playoff.

Do that and the NCs will take care of themselves.

Oh, there are excuses. They're just not very good ones.

Kiffin is a great coach and a perfect fit at LSU!! Y’all will constantly be in playoff contention and legit contenders for a National Championship probably 4 times out of every 10 seasons if not more. I’m not convinced you guys can’t win it this year to be honest!

Don’t expect a Natty every year but since 2019 we have averaged 4.7 losses a season. Not good enough!

Where did you get your numbers? LSU has 4 claimed natties, and could claim a 5th, as opposed to your claimed 3.

I guess I’m todays world with all the money being thrown around that a place like LSU should expect a title every year.. but there is just too much luck needed to do it very regular…

Sadly agree….lil lo LSU is better than what people think. Lane will figure it out then we’re all fricked. The LSU steamroller will be firmly in place.

I want to average 1 national championship every 4 or 5 years. That dynasty Saban built at Alabam was supposed to be done at LSU. Kiff is our new Saban; he is capable of a dynasty at LSU.

Can’t make a putt if you aren’t on the green. Look at the Les Miles era in retrospect. He would’ve had the tigers in a 12 team playoff almost every single year.
