Sankey is right to be against it. Just like he was right to be against the Alabama basketball player
I agree, and LSU is right to exploit legal loopholes to gain a competitive advantage. I'd be 100% against it if the NCAA was fair and just across the board, but they're not. Their imbalanced distribution of punishment makes it difficult for me to side with them. I find it amusing that it's Will Wade leading the charge. Poetic justice.

Yeah, see the NCAA slapping Michigan on the wrist in football after a gigantic sign-stealing scandal giving them a huge competitive advantage while they won an *NC. They flat-out cheated. Then see severe punishments for other schools who have done much less.

I mean I'm not surprised, I still think Sankey shows some hypocritical outcomes on a number of different issues but this one makes sense. Why are we okay with players signing professional contracts and going back to school? I still wish he would have acted properly and stepped in and told Chambliss to go pro that SEC wouldn't allow him to be eligible but we are in a world where people pick and choose when to stand on principle.

Y'all act like Chris Weinke and Brandon Weeden never existed.

Vastly different situations. Not sure how anyone can compare them.

Generally speaking, they are identical. Players that were ruled ineligible by the NCAA and then sued for a TRO to become eligible. You are drawing a hard line on one versus the other is a you thing. The NCAA views them the same - ineligible except for a TRO.

They didn’t go professional football and then back to college. They went baseball out of high school and then went to college for a different sport. It’s not the same and to compare the situations acting as if they are similar is disingenuous.

I hate it too and think that signing a professional contract should end your college eligibility in that sport. I hate all the legal loophole bs.

But let’s not act like plenty of professional euros haven’t been playing the last couple years.

RJ Luis decided he wanted to grad student sports. frick off Sank. A regular college kid can go out and get a professional job and decide to go back for grad school.
don’t hate the player. Hate the game

LSU board and you use those examples over Mauck, Booty, and very recently Von Rosenberg.

Either way, the NCAA had specific eligibility rules regarding playing another sport professionally. Pyburn registered two sacks in a preseason game and RJ Luis has been traded and has an nba.com profile.
