8-4, if we lose to aTm then 7-5. Disappointing with a 45mil roster.

They should look for cause to fire him if he goes 7-5 with a loaded roster, among the top NIL in CFB.

Saban was 7-6 on the field.
Early in the year we had 5 or 6 starters suspended for most of the season due to them getting extra text books under Shula and selling them.
Saban had no portal and wasn't left near the talent Kiffin was.

If they at least look competitive in the loses I would be disappointed but not angry.

honestly 9-3 is probably the ceiling right now, unless we see some marked improvement in the areas we all see that are deficient.
9-3 would have me a little aggrevated, but given the 1st year, new scheme and O staff, and the schedule, i guess if we lost all 3 like this past weekend you can say we were there all year long, just fell short.
if we go 7-5, i can honestly say at the ripe age of 54 i won't be reading much heading into next season. it'll 100% be prove its gotten better on the field. we're becoming the offseason champs............that shite is old. we need to get back to being feared on the field, and no one is scared of LSU right now.

Seems like a lot of you want to make excuses for Kiffin, and I do support him. Kelly who just did not fit at LSU won 10 games in his first year with a roster that only returned 39 players. Kiffin will win, but stop making excuses for him.

Very disappointed.
This not 2007, 2019, or even 2020. Any comparison to those years are absurd. In those years if a coach inherited a weak roster his only means of immediately adding talent was HS recruiting, JUCO players, and a limited number of grad transfers (which wasn't available in 2007). For instance, Nick Saban is not 6-6 at Alabama in 2007 if he had money and the ability to sign players from a pool of hundreds of experienced 3rd, 4th, 5th year college players. Some of 1st round pick/All American quality.
It also would likely have some negative effects on the donors. Over the last two years the LSU AD and football program have asked them to commit a ton of money to improving the success of the football team. They were asked to commit a ton to sign a highly rated portal class in 2025, then asked mid season to commit funds to fire the coaching staff, then asked for tons more to hire a new coaching staff, then more to sign a big transfer class. At some point they are going to want to see a significant ROI and 7-5 ain't it.
Is it unfair or difficult that the timeline for success is expedited in this current era of college sports? Maybe so. But that is the current landscape. It's year to year because next year's LSU team will have to be "rebuilt" again.

9-3 is the floor to accept this year after spending $50M in the portal. That likely gets you a playoff game as well.

I predicted 9-3 this year. Anything worse is not great Bob! The injuries and tough schedule are brutal though.

I would be ok with it depending how we finished year out the losses would have to be all very close and competitive
