That was the year before I was born. I wish I could go back and experience a game day of that era. Campus and the stadium was a whole lot different back then!

My first game was November 23, 1963 day game vs Tulane in Tiger Stadium. I was 10 years old. Got tickets because a lot of people stayed home the day after JFK was shot. My uncle was a HS coach & got the tickets from bill arnsparger was actually was coaching for Tulane.

1963 Freshman, vs aTm, Joe Labruzzo long TD. Opening game won by LSU

Opening game of 1958 season. Vs Hardin-Simmons.
I was 6. I don’t remember much of the game although I remember Billy Cannon and Johnny Robinson.
I do, though, remember walking through the portal of the southeast upper section and seeing Tiger Stadium, at night, under the lights and a sea of the most beautiful green ever. It’s never left me.

Mine was actually at the '95 independence bowl vs Saban, Tony Banks, Muhammad and company. My buddies dad was on the bowl committee, so we were able to watch from the field. I enjoy showing my kids all the times I was clearly seen on the sidelines. Particularly on one of the back to back kick off returns and when Gabe Northern rumbled, bumbled, stumbled to a score off a strip sack recovery. All time Kevin Faulk effort with a great night from Eddie kennison. People might not remember, but this was LSU bowl game for first time in 8 years or so. Dinardo brought back the magic. And we were starved for relevancy. Times were certainly different and before becoming spoiled, it was an incredible thing to see the pride and enthusiasm for the weed eater bowl. Despite a slight hiccup after being ranked as high as 6 in the polls only to lose a heartbreaker by 1 vs Georgia, to then see the wheels fall off. Dinardo brought back the magic, Saban ascended it to immortally. Was at Saban first game vs w.carolina and pretty much 90% of all home games during his tenure.

The first one I remember was Auburn in 69. First play of the game was a halfback pass for a TD

Now people’s first game is a concert. Nothing like how it used to be and should be. Watching the World Cup reminds me of the old Tiger stadium

I’m 60. My first game was either 81 or 82. It was the first game for the freshman duo of Dalton Hilliard and Garry James

For me, it was Notre Dame in 1986 (Nov. 22). We tailgated there with my aunt and uncle who lived in BR. I remember having marinated crab claws for the first time (still love those things to this day). Can't remember where we tailgated, but my brother and I must have kicked that football against the building about 500 times that day.
I was about 11 yrs old but I remember sugar packets being thrown in the stands after the win. After looking back, they went to the Sugar Bowl that year and lost to Nebraska.

Freshman year, 1980, was my first game. A 16-0 loss to #13 Florida State.
I grew up poor in Lafayette and never had a chance to go to a Tigers game until I was enrolled there. I went to Ragin' Cajuns games in high school with friends; that was cheap and easy. That first game in the student section in Tiger Stadium kind of ruined me for Cajuns games.

You're 100% correct.
I can't remember my first game, but it was in 1977. I think it was Florida when they had Chris Collinsworth.
No BS music PUMPING through the speakers, just the fan noise in Tiger Stadium.
My last game before we moved to VB, VA in 1980, we beat Colorado on a late INT and FG 23-20. I've been to many pro and college stadiums over the years, and nowhere has been as loud as Tiger Stadium after that late INT vs Colorado.
