1982 LSU vs Florida Tiger Stadium. Wayne Peace was UF QB

My first game was 1982 LSU vs. Alabama at Legion Field. LSU Beat Bama 20-10 and it was the last year for the Bear at Bama. Alan Rischer was the QB and Dalton Hilliard was our RB.

My brother's Cub Scout Company got tickets to LSU-Tulane 1972, he invited me and for 4 Quarters I screamed at the top of my voice "Tuck Fulane" and he kept trying to shut me up because we were in Tulane Stadium and surrounded by Greenie Weenies.

Not quite.
I started two years later during the 1966 season and have been going ever since.

I’m
Confident I was there as my parents started bringing me when I was not quite 2, but being almost 4 at that game I have no memory of it.

My first game was my first year in college in 1981. Lost to Alabama at home 24-7. Next week, lost to Notre Dame at home 27-9. Rough year for Stovall. Next year they went to the Orange Bowl!

Welcome ole Baw!

My first game was 1989 LSU vs. Miami.

Miami won 44-3. Sat second row from the top of the one deck. It rained underneath us at one point.

I was hooked.

LSU vs The Citadel in 2002. We took a church youth group trip down for it. First thing we see when we get parked and start heading towards the stadium is a guy wearing a t-shirt with “Who The frick Is The Citadel?” written on it. I was hooked.

So much so, it seemed like it was coming from 100 different directions.

Miserable game. Miserable weather.

September 17, 1960. I was 9. My parents were given 5 season tickets in the SEZ and a parking pass by the ROTC Building by my Dad's Captain from WWII, Fred Dent, Sr. LSU beat A&M 9-0 in Game One. We had zero connection to LSU or Louisiana for that matter. Came from Texas. My dad went to NDame for 2 years before he joined the Army in 1940 after Dunkirk. My mom used to date Aggies while she went to Sam Houston State. By the end of that 1960 season (which was a terrible season) my entire family were LSU fans through and through which we all remained.

First game - Nov. 25, 1967 - LSU v. Tulane. Very exciting.
Second - one month later - Sugar Bowl - LSU v. Wyoming - too cold for a six year old. .

Sept 1979 USC game. I was a member of Boy Scout Troop 178 out of Broadmoor Methodist Church and this was the first of many games that I ushered during 1979-80.

TP: I was a freshman in "63 also. Lived in old Graham. Mandatory ROTC. Nobody believes we wore PJ's & an LSU beanie to the first game.
Those were the days.....
